The NFL is a results-driven business, and no one feels that pressure more than the 32 head coaches roaming the sidelines. In fact, we have already seen a number of pink slips doled out thus far in the season.
How about we take a look back, stack them, and rank them from the bottom of the ladder to the top?
Who are the top-ranking head coaches in the NFL after week 13?
32. Chicago Bears: Matt Eberflus (Last Week: #28)
Matt Eberflus came up short in a close game for the last time on the Bears sideline. Another one-score loss brought his record in tight games to a league-worst 5-17 and resulted in him being handed a pink slip midseason, marking the first time in over 100 years.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars: Doug Pederson (Last Week: #32)
Doug Pederson’s team is 2-10 and fading fast. He’s got to find a way to spark this group—or at least stop the bleeding—though for the purposes of his job security, it might not matter.
30. New York Giants: Brian Daboll (Last Week: #30)

The Giants are 2-10, eliminated from the playoffs, and showing little progress. Daboll’s seat isn’t hot yet, but with performances like this, patience might not last much longer.
29. New York Jets: Jeff Ulbrich (Last Week: #31)
Jeff Ulbrich’s Jets are undisciplined and unfocused. After twelve penalties and another loss, it’s hard for this interim NFL head coach to see a path forward after this season.
28. Las Vegas Raiders: Antonio Pierce (Last Week: #29)
Antonio Pierce has this team fighting hard, but moral victories won’t cut it in the NFL. The Raiders’ playoff hopes are officially over, and it’s starting to look like his future with the team could be in question.
27. Tennessee Titans: Brian Callahan (Last Week: #25)
After a shocking upset over Houston last week, the Titans were completely flat, as Brian Callahan’s squad lost focus against a Washington side that was eager to get back in the win column.

26. New England Patriots: Jerod Mayo (Last Week: #27)
Jerod Mayo’s Patriots are now 3-10, and the questions about his future are starting to grow louder with each devastating loss.
25. Dallas Cowboys: Mike McCarthy (Last Week: #26)
Mike McCarthy needed this win. The Cowboys are still on the outside looking in, but back-to-back victories give Dallas a glimmer of hope.
24. Cincinnati Bengals: Zac Taylor (Last Week: #20)
Zac Taylor’s seat isn’t hot yet, but it’s warming up. At 4-8, this season has spiraled out of control, and his inability to fix the defense is a big reason why.
23. Atlanta Falcons: Raheem Morris (Last Week: #21)
Raheem Morris defended his veteran quarterback, but another loss like this could force him to reconsider. The Falcons are still in the NFL playoff hunt, but their head coach needs to find a way to get this offense back on track.
22. Cleveland Browns: Kevin Stefanski (Last Week: #23)
Credit to Kevin Stefanski for keeping this Browns side fighting hard despite 2024 essentially being a lost season for his team.
21. Indianapolis Colts: Shane Steichen (Last Week: #22)
It hasn’t been perfect this year for the Colts, but Shane Steichen continues to pull levers and do the best that he can with an extremely youthful squad.
20. Carolina Panthers: Dave Canales (Last Week: #24)
Though you would like to see him have his team putting these games away, it is hard to knock Dave Canales for the job he has done righting the ship in Charlotte in the second half of this season.
19. Miami Dolphins: Mike McDaniel (Last Week: #16)
Mike McDaniel’s creativity wasn’t enough to overcome Miami’s cold-weather curse. The Dolphins’ losing streak in sub-40-degree games looms large.
18. San Francisco 49ers: Kyle Shanahan (Last Week: #15)
Things are unraveling fast for Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers this year as the injuries continue to mount. Sunday’s loss against Buffalo was an absolute beatdown.
17. Arizona Cardinals: Jonathan Gannon (Last Week: #12)
Jonathan Gannon’s conservative approach might work against lesser teams, but it wasn’t enough to put away a legitimate contender like Minnesota.
16. New Orleans Saints: Darren Rizzi (Last Week: #14)
While Darren Rizzi was saddled with the loss this week, he does deserve credit for how he’s had this team playing as their interim NFL head coach.
15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Todd Bowles (Last Week: #17)
At 6-6, Bowles has Tampa Bay in the NFC South driver’s seat, but we’d like to see him have this team humming a little more by this time of year.
14. Washington Commanders: Dan Quinn (Last Week: #19)
Dan Quinn had his team locked in after a three-game skid, and it showed. The whole squad came to play as they blew the doors off of the Titans.
13. Seattle Seahawks: Mike Macdonald (Last Week: #13)
At 7-5 and leading the NFC West, Mike Macdonald has his squad playing with confidence and focus, even if their games are rarely as much of a sure thing as he’d like.
12. Houston Texans: DeMeco Ryans (Last Week: #18)
DeMeco Ryans has had his work cut out for him in 2024, but his ability to rally the Texans after a tough few weeks and keep them focused on the task at hand is a testament to his leadership.
11. Baltimore Ravens: John Harbaugh (Last Week: #10)
John Harbaugh’s squad looked strong early but faded late. The Ravens head coach’s frustration with the inability to finish drives was evident, and with good reason, as this was a very winnable game for this NFL squad.
10. Los Angeles Rams: Sean McVay (Last Week: #11)
It wasn’t pretty, but Sean McVay proved his coaching chops yet again this week, securing a huge win for the Rams to keep pace in a tight NFC West.
9. Philadelphia Eagles: Nick Sirianni (Last Week: #9)
Nick Sirianni has this team clicking on every level as the Eagles continue to set the tone with their physicality.
8. Denver Broncos: Sean Payton (Last Week: #7)
Sean Payton deserves a pat on the back for the job that he has done, steadying this young Broncos team and developing rookie QB, Bo Nix.
7. Minnesota Vikings: Kevin O'Connell (Last Week: #6)
Kevin O’Connell is as good as it gets in the NFL. His ability to rally the team after a 13-point deficit shows why the Vikings are legitimate contenders in the NFC.
6. Kansas City Chiefs: Andy Reid (Last Week: #2)
Andy Reid isn’t thrilled with how his team is playing, but the legendary NFL head coach keeps finding ways to win, and that’s what counts.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Tomlin (Last Week: #8)
Mike Tomlin’s decision to start Wilson over Justin Fields is looking like a stroke of genius. He and the Steelers continue to grow and adapt as they move firmly into the driver’s seat in the AFC North.
4. Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur (Last Week: #4)
Matt LaFleur has this team believing. Three wins in 12 days, including dominant victories over San Francisco and Miami, prove LaFleur’s Packers are trending in the right direction.
3. Buffalo Bills: Sean McDermott (Last Week: #5)
What a showing from Sean McDermott and his Bills on Sunday Night Football as they put a hurting on the 49ers in primetime.
2. Los Angeles Chargers: Jim Harbaugh (Last Week: #3)
It wasn’t pretty this week against Atlanta, but it was another win for Head Coach Harbaugh, who continues to impress in his return to the NFL.
1. Detroit Lions: Dan Campbell (Last Week: #1)
Dan Campbell is Detroit’s heartbeat, and his fingerprints are all over this win. Detroit continues to hum along as the early Super Bowl favorites.
