Unfortunately, Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season was marred by a brutal number of injuries to notable names, including Brandon Aiyuk, Deshaun Watson, DK Metcalf, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Jayden Daniels.
Here’s hoping for a better week of football in terms of player health and game quality. With that said, let’s dive into our Week 7 editions of the 2024 NFL power rankings.
Which teams are at the top of the NFL rankings after week 7 of games?
32. New England Patriots (32)
We’re not sure how Joe Burrow’s squad will finish, but one day, we’ll all look back and ask how his team lost at home to the Patriots back in Week 1.
The Pats showed little fight in their ugly 32-16 loss to the equally-struggling Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Drake Maye had 276 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, but the Patriots’ defense did him no favors by making Trevor Lawrence look like a $275 million man.
31. Carolina Panthers (31)
Jayden Daniels left Sunday’s game early with a rib injury, and the Commanders still crushed Carolina 40-7 without their superstar rookie signal-caller.

The Panthers made Marcus Mariota look like a Pro Bowler while also giving up 214 yards on the ground. With the game out of reach, Bryce Young returned to attempt two passes in garbage time. Yay…
At least the NHL’s Hurricanes look pretty good?
30. Tennessee Titans (29)
The Titans’ defense was overmatched by Josh Allen and his improved receiving corps, which added Amari Cooper days before the game.
The Titans’ upcoming schedule does them no favors, so they have a golden opportunity to tank and put themselves in the driver’s seat for the top pick. On another note, has anyone heard from Calvin Ridley lately?
29. Cleveland Browns (28)
Let’s see….Browns fans booed Deshaun Watson during pre-game intros, then cheered when he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear. Oh, and the Browns fell 21-14 to the Bengals to fall to 1-6 on the season.
Did we mention the Guardians were eliminated by the Yankees in the ALCS? Good thing the Cavaliers are back in action!
Also, we still can’t believe the Browns didn’t bring back Joe Flacco in the offseason. Ah well.
28. Jacksonville Jaguars (30)
I hope Jaguars fans enjoyed that win over the hapless Patriots because there’s little reason to believe they’ll win a game before December. Their next five opponents are the Packers, Eagles, Vikings, Lions, and Texans — AKA all Super Bowl hopefuls.
Anywho, it’s nice to see Trevor Lawrence kind of sort of rebound…and Tank Bigsby looks like a star in the making.
27. Las Vegas Raiders (26)
The Raiders lost a very winnable game against a banged-up Rams team by a final score of 20-15. On the bright side, the Davante Adams headache and saga is over? And Tom Brady was finally approved as a minority owner?
As you can see, there are a lot of terrible and unwatchable teams in the NFL this year. Can the Raiders out-tank the others to get Travis Hunter or a QB like Carson Beck, Quinn Ewers or Shedeur Sanders? Stay tuned…

26. New York Giants (25)
Daniel Jones was mercilessly benched in favor of Drew Lock, and old friend Saquon Barkley got another laugh on his old team by putting up 176 rushing yards and a touchdown in the Eagles ‘28-3 beatdown of their archrivals.
Looking at the rest of the Giants’ schedule, we have a hard time believing they’ll finish with more than five wins this year. The silver lining is that the Giants are playing their way to a pick inside the top 10 that will net them a prized quarterback prospect to FINALLY replace Danny Dimes.
25. New Orleans Saints (24)
Well, this season is over! It’s hard to remember that these guys were 2-0 at one point, but then you see that beating Carolina and Dallas in September wasn’t particularly special in hindsight.
This aging and underperforming roster is too banged up and doesn’t have enough depth to compete. Dennis Allen isn’t qualified to be a head coach. Mickey Loomis needs to look up “Rebuild” in a dictionary.
Other than that, it hasn’t been the worst season in Big Easy.
24. Los Angeles Rams (27)
Sean McVay’s squad just barely squeaked out a 20-15 home win over the Raiders to move to 2-4.
Kupp is set to return for Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings. So if the Rams can somehow pull off the upset, the Rams are suddenly 3-4 and very much alive in the Wild Card Race, with Nacua’s return around the corner.
23. New York Jets (22)
Davante Adams’ debut with the Jets was a bigger dud than the “Jaws” sequels. He caught just three passes for 30 yards in a humiliating 37-15 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Prime-Time.
The Jets’ D made Russell Wilson look like prime Russell Wilson in his Steelers debut. Breece Hall was Aaron Rodgers’ only weapon who really showed up. At 2-and-5, the Jets realistically have to finish 8-and-2 to make the postseason. Why does something tell us that it doesn’t seem possible?
22. Miami Dolphins (20)
The Tua Tagovailoa-less Dolphins are actually lucky; they only lost to the Colts by six points. I mean, how do Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle each finish with only ONE CATCH? Seriously, how is that possible?
The 2-and-4 Dolphins are on life support now. They can’t get Tua back quickly enough. Lose to Arizona on Sunday, and it’ll be season over!
21. Arizona Cardinals (23)
The Cardinals saved their season — for now at least – with a gutsy 17-15 home victory over Justin Herbert’s Los Angeles Chargers. The James Conner-led ground game made up for Kyler Murray’s lackluster day as a passer, and the D held the Bolts to zero TDs and five field goals in the nailbiting win.
Arizona has some things to clean up on offense if they’re to compete for a playoff spot, but they’re not done just yet, not after avoiding a nightmare 2-5 start.
20. Cincinnati Bengals (21)
The Bengals escaped Cleveland with a 21-14 road win, finally marking Joe Burrow’s first road game against Cincy’s archrivals.
Hard as it is to believe, Cincinnati is just one game out of the final wild-card spot in the AFC. Burrow’s group has a knack for turning it on in the second half, so even with a tough schedule looming, we caution you to think twice about ruling these guys out.
19. Dallas Cowboys (16)
Count on Jerry Jones to make significant headlines during Dallas’ bye week. In this case, threatening to “fire” Cowboys radio hosts whose stations and employers he doesn’t actually own…
As everyone knows, Jerry hates being blamed for the roster he put together on his own. Unlikely, but you wonder if another humiliating loss to San Francisco would lead to Mike McCarthy’s dismissal? Or a blockbuster trade of some sort to save the season?
18. San Francisco 49ers (13)
Brandon Aiyuk is done for the year after tearing his ACL in the loss to Kansas City. We still don’t know when Christian McCaffrey is returning. Deebo Samuel missed most of Week 7 with an illness. The defense has been a letdown without Dre Greenlaw and Javon Hargrave.
You just have to wonder if the amount of injuries to star players has finally caught up to Kyle Shanahan’s group. A loss at home to Dallas, whom San Fran has owned, would mean Defcon 1 in 49er land.
17. Los Angeles Chargers (15)
Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers followed up a big-time road win in Denver by dropping a low-scoring affair to Kyler Murray’s Cardinals on Monday night. The Bolts have now lost three of their last four games following a 2-0 start.
Why won’t we panic yet? You see, the Saints, Browns, and Titans make up their next three games. A soft schedule over the final 11 games puts LA in a good spot to jump ahead in the playoff race.
16. Denver Broncos (18)
Sean Payton’s return to the Superdome couldn’t have gone better for the Broncos. They made easy work of a banged-up and Derek Carr-less Saints team in prime time to move to 4-3 on the year.
The Broncos get the Panthers at home before back-to-back road games against the Chiefs and Ravens. Buckle up.
15. Indianapolis Colts (17)
The Colts should have beaten Miami by more than six points, but Shane Steichen’s injury-riddled group will take a win however they can. Style points aren’t a thing in the NFL, after all…
Don’t look now, but a road win over Houston on Sunday puts Indy in a tie for first in the AFC South. Game on!
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12)
No team had a worse Week 7 than the Bucs. They lost their two superstar wideouts in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, to injury. One Evans went down, and the table turned. Why the Bucs had Godwin out in garbage time is beyond us.
Losing those two alone was worse than losing 41-31 to the red-hot Ravens. Just like that, Tampa’s season is already on thin ice.
13. Chicago Bears (14)
The surging Bears were on a bye week following their blowout win over the Jaguars in London. With six divisional games still ahead, they oughta take advantage of an easy schedule after visiting Washington this week: At Arizona and vs. New England.
12. Seattle Seahawks (19)
The Seahawks got a big-time bounce-back win in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, crushing Kirk Cousins and the surging Falcons by 20 points on their own turf.
It was a much-needed confidence booster for a ‘Hawks team that had allowed 29-plus points in each game during their losing skid. And with the injury bug eating up the 49ers, the NFC West is in Seattle’s hands. Another big test awaits with the Bills coming to Emerald City on Sunday.
11. Atlanta Falcons (7)
Atlanta was riding a three-game winning streak and had the chance to increase their lead on the NFC South…but Raheem Morris’crew didn’t show up on either side of the ball in a gross 20-point loss.
The Falcons can still put themselves in the driver’s seat for the division if they beat Tampa on Sunday. A victory would secure the season-series sweep.
10. Philadelphia Eagles (11)
Saquon Barkley’s return to New York was practically perfect…if you’re on the Eagles’ side. He had a signature Saquon game and led Philly to a blowout win over the archenemy team.
By the way, that highly-scrutinized Eagles D has held opponents to under 20 points in three of their last four games. With AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith healthy, the Eagles are looking more like the 2022 squad than last year’s second-half disaster.
Now we see if they can keep the momentum going with Joe Burrow and the host Bengals next on the schedule.
9. Washington Commanders (10)
No Jayden Daniels for most of the game, no problem. Marcus Mariota was almost flawless in relief of the rookie QB, leading the C’s to their fifth victory in six.
Sometimes, you’re skeptical of a team’s hot start and refuse to take them seriously. If you’re in that club with Washington, it’s time to buy the hype now. They’re deep on both sides of the ball and are far and away the most complete team in the NFC East.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers (9)
Russell Wilson’s long-awaited Steelers debut exceeded expectations, alright? 264 yards passing, two touchdowns without an interception, and one rushing score in utter domination of Aaron Rodgers’ Jets.
The 5-2 Steelers have stability at QB to complement a top-five defense. If Wilson’s Week 7 performance wasn’t a mirage, then the Steelers are bonafide Super Bowl contenders in the crowded AFC.
7. Houston Texans (4)
The Texans brought their C-minus game into Green Bay on Sunday and still only lost on a last-second field goal. We understand the frustration of Houston fans, but there’s no shame in losing to an unfamiliar opponent and title contender on the road.
If the Texans beat Indy on Sunday, they will sweep the season series and are basically three games up for the AFC South. Lose, and we’ve got a tie for first. So yeah, Sunday’s a pretty big deal for both teams.
6. Buffalo Bills (8)
Josh Allen and the Bills did what was expected of them: Humiliate the Titans in front of Bills Mafia to move to 5-2 on the year.
Was just one of three beautiful developments for Buffalo in Week 7. The Jets and Dolphins also lost, meaning the Bills have the AFC East locked up as long as they don’t suffer a historic collapse.
And to think Amari Cooper will only get better in this offense…
5. Green Bay Packers (6)
The Packers lost the turnover battle 3-0 and mustered on 277 yards of offense against the Texans. Fortunately for Jordan Love, the defense held CJ Stroud’s high-powered machine to just 197 yards in a nailbiting 24-22 victory.
The 5-2 Packers look every bit like a Super Bowl contender. They’re just not getting as much love because they reside in football’s toughest division, but don’t worry, Cheesehead Nation. We’ve noticed.
4. Baltimore Ravens (5)
The Ravens overcame a sluggish first quarter and dropped 41 points on a dangerous Tampa Bay team to pick up their fifth straight win. This just in: Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are really freaking good together.
Lamar Jackson threw five touchdowns. The ground game had 244 yards. The D picked off Baker Mayfield twice. Records aside, is it a stretch to suggest the Ravens might be the AFC’s most dangerous team? Patrick Mahomes’ group hasn’t come close to putting up this many fireworks so far…
3. Minnesota Vikings (2)
We refuse to harp too much on a 5-win team that lost to the NFC’s most talented team on a late field goal. Kevin O’Connell’s group had to drop one eventually.
It just so happened to be against a division rival in Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions. The Vikings are still a force to be reckoned with on both sides. Take a look at their next four games, and Minny should be no worse than 8-2 by the time they visit Chicago in Week 12.
2. Detroit Lions (3)
Jared Goff put together another MVP-like performance, and Jake Bates made the game-winning field goal in the final seconds to hand Minnesota their first loss of 2024.
Another statement wins by Dan Campbell’s group, taking down the NFC’s best team on the road without bringing their A game. Now positioned as the top seed in the conference, the Lions have left little doubt that they’re the NFC’s team to beat right now.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (1)
The Chiefs slugged out a 10-point victory over the 49ers in a Super Bowl 58 rematch. The game itself wasn’t even close to the thrill of their previous meeting, but such is life when guys like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Rashee Rice, and Hollywood Brown are injured.
Anyway, with every other AFC team logging at least two losses, it looks like the road to the Super Bowl will again run through Arrowhead. The more that stays the same.
