We’ve got two undefeated NFL teams and six one-win clubs heading into Week 7.
The race for both Super Bowl 59 and the first overall pick in 2025 are wide-wide open. Giddy is up because another week of surprises and chaos awaits.
With that said, let’s dive into our Week 7 edition of the 2024 NFL power ranking.
Who are the top NFL teams in this week’s rankings?
32. New England Patriots (32)
It’s usually hard to find positives when you lose by 20 points at home…but Drake Maye did show some flashes in his first NFL start.
Facing a dangerous Houston Texans defense, Maye still completed 20 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-21 loss. He showed some chemistry with Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte, and if Maye can build off this, the Patriots won’t be so unwatchable down the stretch…
31. Carolina Panthers (31)

The Andy Dalton honeymoon phase has worn off, and it may be time to go back to Bryce Young.
The 1-and-5 Panthers are broken and beyond repair.. May as well see if Young can bounce back. If not, they know to draft a new quarterback in April.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars (30)
With that kind of effort against Caleb Williams’ Chicago Bears in London, the Jaguars might have forfeited their NFL game and taken a vacation. The defense was gashed for nearly 400 yards in a 35-16 blowout victory.
So, at 1-5, stick a fork in Trevor Lawrence’s squad. If you’re a Jaguars fan, you may as well go on “Team Tank” and hope your team can land Travis Hunter next year.
29. Tennessee Titans (29)
Will Levis didn’t even hit 100 yards passing, wasting a stellar effort by the Titans’ defense and a ground game that racked up 146 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Titans are now 1-4 and already look poised to get a top-five pick. It already feels like Levis isn’t gonna another year in Music City, so at least they have Quinn Ewers, Cameron Ward, Carson Beck, or Shedeur Sanders waiting for them.
28. Cleveland Browns (27)
Same old story for the 2024 Browns. Deshaun Watson did next to nothing as a passer, and the Browns’ horrific offensive line allowed five sacks in a 20-16 road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Like Tennessee, Cleveland will finish with a top-10 pick — so they can at least find a new QB to replace Watson…
27. Los Angeles Rams (28)
The 1-4 Rams are out of the playoff race at this point, but they’ll have a chance to play spoiler when star wideouts Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua return from injury.
Nothing has gone right for Sean McVay’s group this year, and it’s tough to find a reason for optimism. Their post-bye week schedule does LA no favors, so don’t be surprised if GM Les Snead is a busy trade deadline seller.

26. Las Vegas Raiders (25)
The Raiders were blown out at home by 19 points against a Pittsburgh Steelers squad with a lackluster offense. Maxx Crosby shoved his assistant coach on the sidelines during the ugly loss, but otherwise, it wouldn’t have been such a bad day for Black and Silver.
We knew the Raiders had a suspect QB situation, but this defense was a top-10 unit last year. Now they’re allowing 27.2 points per game through Week 6? Can’t this team be consistent at anything?
25. New York Giants (24)
The Giants dropped a defensive slugfest to the Cincinnati Bengals 17-7 in prime-time, dropping Brian Daboll’s squad to 2-4 on the season.
What can we say? It’s hardly surprising. We know this offense has a limited ceiling with Daniel Jones, and there’s still no reason to think Daboll is considering a change. With the Eagles, Steelers, and Commanders next on the schedule, this NFL season could go off the rails quickly unless Danny Dimes somehow picks up his play.
24. New Orleans Saints (23)
Well, don’t say none of us warned you. The Saints could have started a rebuild four years ago, and now they’re paying the price more than ever for ignoring the inevitable.
Dennis Allen is not cut out for coaching. The aging defense is a mess now, and we’re not even sure if Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen could do a whole lot behind this atrocious offensive line.
Four straight losses for a New Orleans club that has clearly quit on its coach. Will the front office finally accept its fate and begin selling at the deadline? It’d be a nice early Thanksgiving gift for the fed-up fanbase.
23. Arizona Cardinals (22)
The Cardinals might be football’s most frustrating team. They stun the San Francisco 49ers on the road one week, then sleep through most of their contest against the Green Bay Packers one week later.
Jordan Love torched the Packers’ secondary all game long, and the defense was destroyed for 179 yards on the ground. The result was a 34-13 road loss that dropped the Redbirds to 4-2.
It’s hard to take Arizona seriously now. They’re a mushy middle team with a hot-and-cold offense and a Swiss-cheese defense.
22. New York Jets (19)
Another coulda-shoulda-woulda loss for the Jets. Greg Zuerlein missed two field goals, and Aaron Rodgers threw an interception on New York’s final possession to seal a 23-20 home loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The Jets are now 2-4, with no sign of improvement in sight. The schedule does them no favors, so we’re gradually entering the “Stick a fork in ‘em” territory.
21. Cincinnati Bengals (26)
Well, Joe Burrow and the Bengals kept their NFL season alive FOR NOW by narrowly escaping MetLife Stadium with a low-scoring win over the Giants.
Cincy is only one game out of a playoff spot, and there’s a promising path to get above .500 with the one-win Browns, inconsistent Eagles, and miserable Raiders making up the Bengals’ next three games.
20. Miami Dolphins (21)
The Dolphins’ bye week couldn’t have come at a much better period. Tua Tagovailoa has more time to recover as he works his way back from injury, not to mention that backup Tyler Huntley got to further familiarize himself with Miami’s playbook.
With two mediocre teams in the Colts and Cardinals next on the schedule, Miami has a clear path to getting back above .500. We’ll see how they fare coming out of the bye week.
19. Seattle Seahawks (13)
Well, Seattle’s 3-0 start was fun while it lasted.
They took advantage of a weak schedule early but have now dropped three straight games — all by double-digit points. During the losing skid, the D has allowed 35.6 points per game. That’s ridiculous.
Two tough games are next on the schedule: A road game in Atlanta and a home tilt with the Bills. They may be .500, but it’s becoming “now or never” for Mike Macdonald’s group.
18. Denver Broncos (17)
The Broncos put up a real stinker in a 23-16 home loss to the banged-up Los Angeles Chargers.
The defense can’t steal every game, and Bo Nix is still a work in progress, so expectations need to be kept at a reasonable level in Denver. On the bright side, the Saints and Panthers are next on the schedule, so 5-and-3 is right there.
And something tells us Sean Payton will be a little motivated to win on Thursday when he returns to the Superdome against his old team.
17. Indianapolis Colts (20)
It wasn’t pretty by any means, but Shane Steichen and the banged-up Colts narrowly escaped Nashville with a 20-16 victory over Tennessee in a defensive slugfest.
Not sure if you’ve noticed, but the race for the last two AFC wild card spots is wide wide open. And the resilient Colts are very much in it.
16. Dallas Cowboys (9)
The Cowboys humiliated themselves at home for a third time in as many games this year. The latest was the ugliest of them all: A 47-9 blowout loss at the hands of Jared Goff and the visiting Detroit Lions.
Dallas is 3-and-0 away and winless at home. Hey, Jerry Jones is okay with mediocrity and told reporters he’s not thinking about a coaching change….so you know what you’re getting with these guys.
15. Los Angeles Chargers (18)
A nice, tidy bounce-back win for the Chargers in Mile High City coming out of their bye week. Jim Harbaugh’s group dominated the Broncos on both sides of the ball and moved to 3-2 following a mini two-game losing skid.
The AFC is surprisingly weaker this year, so the Bolts should be taken seriously in the playoff race, especially if they have better luck with injuries. Up next is another manageable game against Kyler Murray’s Cardinals on Monday night.
14. Chicago Bears (16)
Make that three straight victories for the Bears, who are finally rounding into form on offense.
Caleb Williams had four passing TDs in the Bears’ shellacking of a hapless Jaguars team. That’s back-to-back weeks of the Bears now putting up at least 35 points — and three straight games of the defense allowing under 20 points.
Great to see Keenan Allen finally get involved, two, with a pair of TDs in Sunday’s win. The Bears now get to sit back and enjoy a bye week before visiting Jayden Daniels’ Washington Commanders in Week 8.
13. San Francisco 49ers (15)
The banged-up 49ers put on an offensive masterpiece in Seattle to cruise by the Seahawks. That may be a season-saver, folks.
The 49ers are now atop the NFC West with a 3-3 record. The 49ers may have an array of injuries to key players, but none of their division foes look like serious challengers for the NFC West crown.
The 49ers can really show the NFL they’re back if they can avenge their Super Bowl 58 loss when they host the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14)
You know you had a good week when your QB threw three interceptions, your special teams gave up a punt return TD…and you still won by 24!
Such was the case for Todd Bowles’ Bucs, who humiliated New Orleans with a 51-27 road victory. Twenty-seven unanswered points will do that to ya.
The Bucs haven’t shown any week-to-week consistency, and it remains to be seen how they’ll fare against tougher opponents down the stretch. That starts with a home game against Baltimore on Monday, but these guys have asserted themselves as serious playoff contenders once again.
11. Philadelphia Eagles (12)
Well, it wasn’t pretty, but Nick Sirianni’s Eagles barely snuck past the hapless Cleveland Browns to get back above .500. Nice way to come out of the bye week following a humiliating Week 4 loss to Tampa Bay, alright.
The return of AJ Brown made the difference for Philly in a defensive slugfest. It still feels like this team is miles away from reaching its potential, but they’re just half a game out of first in the division, with the Giants, Bengals, and Jaguars next on the schedule.
Take advantage of that soft schedule, and they’re back in the running for the NFC’s top seed.
10. Washington Commanders (6)
Not gonna knock on the Commanders for losing on the road to the league’s hottest offense. Jayden Daniels had a solid day overall against the Ravens’ defense, but Washington’s D couldn’t come up with the timely stops in a 30-23 loss.
These are the NFL games that teach valuable lessons to young teams looking to take that next step like Washington.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (11)
Justin Fields didn’t have to do much with his arm. His legs, along with the Steelers’ explosive ground game and lights-out defense, made it easy with a blowout win over Las Vegas in Sin City.
The offense will need to stay sharp with the stingy Jets’ defense coming to Pittsburgh on Sunday night. Fields vs. Aaron Rodgers could low-key be a game-of-the-year candidate, as major playoff implications are at stake for both clubs here.
8. Buffalo Bills (8)
The Bills tried to hand Monday night to the Jets on a silver platter. Fortunately for Josh Allen and company, the Jets actually handed it to them on a golden platter.
But this is what elite NFL teams do. They win games they SHOULD lose. Buffalo has come out of a tough six-game stretch with a 4-2 record, and truth be told, the AFC East should be wrapped up by the end of the month.
7. Atlanta Falcons (10)
Kirk Cousins and the offense just get better and better each week. The Falcons crushed Carolina 38-20 on the road for a third straight victory.
Cousins is maximizing the weaponry around him, providing Atlanta the stability they have lacked at QB for a few years now. The bend-don’t-break defense is doing its job, and the Falcons certainly look like the team to beat in the NFC South over the Bucs — especially with a much friendlier schedule in their favor.
6. Green Bay Packers (7)
Green Bay crushed the Cardinals at home to improve to 4-2 in the NFL season. Jordan Love is playing like an MVP. Josh Jacobs and Jayden Reed are on their way to 1,000-yard seasons, and the D continues to put the clamps down — allowing under 20 points in four of their last five games now.
5. Baltimore Ravens (5)
Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry both put up MVP-like performances in Sunday’s home win over Jayden Daniels’ Commanders in the Beltway Bowl. The Ravens have now put up over 30 points in three straight weeks, which is a clear reminder that they’re very much in the running for the Super Bowl. Thank you!
4. Houston Texans (4)
The Texans made it easy for the Patriots to improve to 5-1 in the year, again cementing themselves as the Chiefs’ No. 1 challenger in the AFC.
No Nico Collins, no problem. Hard to stop this offense anyway, with CJ Stroud, Joe Mixon, Stefon Diggs, and Tank Dell. They get a chance to make another statement in Week 7 with a trip to Green Bay next on the schedule.
3. Detroit Lions (3)
All the Lions did in Week 6 was come into Dallas and crush the Cowboys 47-9 road win, getting some tasty revenge after last year’s ineligible receiver penalty fiasco in Jerry World.
Unfortunately, Aidan Hutchinson suffered tibia and fibula fractures that required surgery, so the Lions may be without their defensive MVP for the rest of the year. We’ll see how Detroit’s defense performs with a pivotal Week 7 road game against the Vikings next on the schedule.
2. Minnesota Vikings (2)
The Vikings retain the No. 2 spot here following their Week 6 bye. Now comes a “game of the year” candidate, with Minny set to host Jared Goff and the Lions.
After that, the Vikings schedule sets up nicely, with the Rams, Colts, Jaguars, and Titans making up their next four games. A win over Detroit would have Minny comfortably in the driver’s seat to win the NFC North.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (1)
The Chiefs were on a bye in Week 6 following a perfect 5-0 start, giving the banged-up offense much-needed time to recover before their can’t-miss Week 7 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.
Does Patrick Mahomes break the hearts of the 49ers again, or is five times a charm for the 49ers? Stay tuned.
