With the conclusion of the Lions-Raiders edition of Monday Night Football, Week 8 is officially closed out. Let’s have a look around the league and assess where every NFL team’s offense ranks.
32. Arizona Cardinals (Last Week #26)
Between getting shutout by the Browns and the way that Joshua Dobbs played for Minnesota during his first start since leaving the Cards, Arizona couldn’t have come out of Week 9 looking worse.
31. New York Giants (Last Week #32)
Another humiliating showing for the New York Giants on the offensive side of the ball this week. They had nothing for the Raiders defense, despite that group struggling all year long and Las Vegas having fired its head coach, Josh McDaniels mid-week.
30. Green Bay Packers (Last Week #31)
With each passing week Jordan Love and this Packers offense looks even more discombobulated. Even Week 9 when they managed to get a W, it was still a modest 20-point showing with cause for concern sprinkled throughout.

29. Carolina Panthers (Last Week #27)
Carolina’s offense has been underwhelming in 2023 to say the least. Bryce Young threw three more interceptions in this one and the entire unit looked out of sorts against Indy.
28. New England Patriots (Last Week #29)
New England was thought to have a favorable matchup facing a Washington team that had a defensive fire sale leading up to the NFL Trade Deadline, but the Patriots came up short, managing just 17 points—in part thanks to another weak showing from Mac Jones.
27. Los Angeles Rams (Last Week #23)
With Matthew Stafford out and their season very much starting to fall apart the Los Angeles Rams took another step back this week offensively, putting up three points and just 187 yards against a bad Packers side.
26. Atlanta Falcons (Last Week #25)
The Falcons had an embarrassing loss this week against Joshua Dobbs mere days into his Vikings career, but the offense actually looked pretty good. Taylor Heinicke was impressive for the second straight week.
It was good to see him find a way to get the talented but oft-underutilized Jonnu Smith involved, as the two hooked up five times for 100 yards and a touchdown.
25. Seattle Seahawks (Last Week #11)
Seattle had nothing for the Ravens defense this week. Geno was all over the place with his location and the rushing attack was almost entirely ineffective, finishing the contest with just 28 yards on the ground.
24. BYE Denver Broncos (Last Week #21)
Denver had all sorts of momentum heading into the bye after knocking off Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The Broncos will have another tough test to prove if Sean Payton really has this team moving in the right direction next week, as they square up with the Bills on Monday Night Football.
23. Chicago Bears (Last Week #20)
Tyson Bagent struggled to take care of the football in this one, surrendering three interceptions. The young QB put Chicago’s offense behind the eight ball in what could’ve been a strong showing otherwise.
22. New York Jets (Last Week #22)
Let’s face it, it is never going to be the Jets offensive that outright wins them the game this year, but this was strong enough showing against Los Angeles to maintain their footing.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers (Last Week #24)
Pittsburgh had a big week offensively—at least to its modest standards—putting up 20 points in a winning effort against Mike Vrabel’s Titans.
20. Las Vegas Raiders (Last Week #30)
Well, it is safe to say that the Raiders players were happy to see Josh McDaniels finally get the boot this week, they played inspired football this week putting up 30 on a solid Giants defense behind Aidan O’Connell.
19. Indianapolis Colts (Last Week #15)
Colts were quiet offensively this week. Gardner Minshew completed just 17 passes for 127 yards and a score against a weak Panthers D. The Colts do deserve some credit though for efficiency after managing to put up 27 points despite being held under 200 total yards.
18. Cleveland Browns (Last Week #17)
Cleveland had a nice showing this afternoon, finishing with 27 points thanks to a big afternoon from wide receiver, Amari Cooper, who snagged five catches for 139 yards and one score.
17. Tennessee Titans (Last Week #18)
The bad news is Tennessee only score 16 points this week in its loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but there is a massive silver lining and that is how different the offense looks with Will Levis under center. The Titans have reason to believe that he is a legitimate franchise quarterback going forward.
16. Washington Commanders (Last Week #16)
Washington stayed put this week after another respectable performance. Sam Howell threw for 325 yards and the Commanders were impressive throughout, controlling the ball for 37:10 compared to 22:50 for New England.
15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last Week #28)
Baker and the Tampa Bay offense looked much better this week, putting 37 points against a solid Texans defense. Rachaad White was a big contributor this week totaling 73 yards and two scores on 20 carries.
14. New Orleans Saints (Last Week #12)
New Orleans came back down to earth this week after a 38-point explosion in Week 8. That said, 24 points and a 50% conversion rate on 3rd down is nothing to scoff at.
13. Buffalo Bills (Last Week #13)
The Bills had some great moments offensively this week with both Stefon Diggs and Dalton Kincaid lighting it up downfield, but if they want to be taken seriously as a legitimate Super Bowl contender again they simply have to find a way to develop a run game.
12. Los Angeles Chargers (Last Week #5)
Los Angeles had its work cut out for it offensively this week going up against a Jets defense that is among the best in the league, but we’ve come to expect more out of this group—and with good reason considering how much talent the Chargers have on that side of the ball.
11. Houston Texans (Last Week #19)
What a performance by C.J. Stroud and this young Texans offense. Houston was great all afternoon scoring 39 points, but further rose to the occasion down the stretch rallying for a last second game-winning score.
10. BYE Detroit Lions (Last Week #11)
After a nice get-back game against the Raiders last week, Detroit found itself on bye. Jared Goff and co. will be shipping out to Los Angeles in Week 10 to face the Chargers. Let’s see if they can keep the offensive momentum going.
9. Dallas Cowboys (Last Week #8)
This was a weird one for the Cowboys. The Dallas offense looked unstoppable at points, but ultimately ran out of gas against a strong Philadelphia D—though—safe to assume we’d have a different take if they could’ve eked out a couple more yards on that last play!
8. BYE San Francisco 49ers (Last Week #7)
San Francisco needed this bye week in the worst way. After a scorching hot start to the year, the team lost three in a row, losing its firepower on offense in the process. Niners fans have to be hoping that this bye week gave Brock Purdy a chance to get resettled and for a couple of the key injuries to heal.
7. Miami Dolphins (Last Week #2)
Miami had a slow start in Germany against a stout Chiefs defense but did manage to make a nice push toward victory. The Dolphins rallied for 14 points in the third quarter, but ultimately came up short thanks to a couple of clutch plays down the stretch from KC.
6. BYE Jacksonville Jaguars (Last Week #9)
Jacksonville was on bye this week but managed to scoot up a couple of slots thanks to a couple of disappointing showings from teams near the top of the rankings. They return to action against a struggling, but now re-tooled 49ers defense.
5. Minnesota Vikings (Last Week #14)
Minnesota deserves all the credit in the world for what it did on offense with Joshua Dobbs—essentially a third-string quarterback who had been on the team for just a couple of days and had no intention of playing in this game.
363 yards and 7/16 on 3rd down is extremely impressive—especially without your top two quarterbacks and All-Pro wide receiver.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week #6)
Kansas City still hasn’t looked like its normally high-powered self, but with Patrick Mahomes under center and W’s still being tallied in the win column, we have to give the Chiefs their credit.
3. Cincinnati Bengals (Last Week #4)
Well, folks, it looks like Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are all the way back. The black and orange stripes were dominant this week, again, moving the ball at will against Buffalo—both on the ground and through the air.
2. Baltimore Ravens (Last Week #3)
Baltimore is looking scary good of late. The Ravens torched a solid Seattle side for 37 points and rushed for an insane 298 yards.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week #2)
Another strong performance for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles, this time, against the Dallas Cowboys. It has been impressive to watch how consistent this group has been despite the nagging injuries that have been ailing Hurts.
