NFL football has become all about the offense in recent years, but not all of these units are created equally. Let’s take a look at how every NFL team’s offense is trending through Week 2.
32. Carolina Panthers
Carolina may have a rookie quarterback under center in Bryce Young, but the fact that the offense looks unspeakably bad is through no fault of his own. The Panthers receivers rarely get separation and Young is constantly under duress.
31. Houston Texans
Texans rookie, CJ Stroud, has been running for his life thus far in 2023. The offensive line is among the worst in the league, as is the rest of the unit as a whole.
30. New York Jets
Expectations were sky-high for the Jets with the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, but now that it is Zach Wilson back under center, it looks like it is going to be the same song and dance for this lowly offense in spite of the talent it has all over the field. Wilson is a complete anchor.

29. New York Giants
Considering New York started the season with six scoreless quarters, it is safe to say that they are among the worst in the league. They got a slight bump from the second half showing we saw in Week 2, but now that Saquon Barkley has gone down with another injury, it is looking like it could be a long season for the G-Men.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh’s offense has looked anemic through two games. Najee Harris’ explosiveness is completely gone and more and more questions continue to emerge about the way Matt Canada is running the offense.
27. Las Vegas Raiders
There have not been many bright spots for this Raiders offense which is averaging just 13.5 points per game so far. Perhaps even more troubling is how out of sorts the group has looked on tape.
26. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts offense looked surprisingly okay behind rookie quarterback, Anthony Richardson, but now that the dual threat QB is battling concussion injuries there are serious questions as to whether they can maintain that momentum.
25. Cincinnati Bengals
Crazy to say it, but Joe Burrow’s Bengals have really struggled on offense this season. Now that the quarterback has reaggravated the calf injury that plagued him during camp, things make get worse before they get better in Cinci.
24. Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson has continued to look like a shell of himself and now that Nick Chubb has gone down with a presumably season-ending injury, things could go from bad to worse for the Browns offense.
23. New Orleans Saints
New Orleans made waves this offseason bringing Derek Carr to the Big Easy, but nothing has come easy him so far in 2023, as he tries to get a rhythm with a new group of receivers. There have been some bright spots with the emergence of Rasheed Shaheed and Chris Olave’s growing star, but this group definitely needs work.
22. Chicago Bears
Chicago’s offense has been one of the biggest disappointments in the league this year. Everyone was predicting Justin Fields and subsequently, the rest of the group to take a big step forward, but they’ve look discombobulated and ineffective thus far.
21. New England Patriots
Things are not looking good in Foxborough. Mac Jones seems to still be on a different page from the coaching staff and his receivers and it shows with the Patriots offensive output.
20. Denver Broncos
The Broncos offense has been puzzling so far in 2023. There have been stretches early in games where its looked great and Russell Wilson has looked like he’s regained form, but it keeps falling apart in the second half. Need to see a more complete showing from this group.
19. Arizona Cardinals
Joshua Dobbs has been scrappy as Kyler Murray’s replacement, there is no doubt about that. And James Connor can still tote the rock… But this Cardinals offense doesn’t look like it is going to break any records.
18. Washington Commanders
Sam Howell has looked surprisingly solid through two starts, but Washington needs to get more out of its skill position players, particularly Terry McLaurin, who has been battling turf toe, if they want keep pace in a tough AFC East.
17. Tennessee Titans
Ryan Tannehill and the Titans bounced back well with a comeback win in Week 2, but this is not an overpowering offense. It will still go as far as Derrick Henry takes them, which is increasingly becoming more of a question mark with his advanced age.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars
Expectations were high for the Jags coming into the season, but we are going to have to see more out of Trevor Lawrence and that talented receiver group in the coming weeks—they’ve just been too inconsistent.
15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2023 has been a renaissance year for Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mike Evans is reminding everyone why he’s a future Hall of Famer and the offense looks shockingly solid with Mayfield in lieu of Tom Brady.
14. Minnesota Vikings
Justin Jefferson and to a lesser extent, Jordan Addison, are studs, but there are issues with this offense. The offensive line needs to find a way to give Cousins more time, otherwise a group with top five potential will continue to float in the middle of the pack.
13. Atlanta Falcons
Arthur Smith and the Atlanta Falcons have jumped out to a surprising 2-0 start on the strength of a zig when they zag, run-heavy offense. Bijan Robinson has looked like a superstar and Desmond Ridder looks like he’s progressed since his rookie year and is now capable of managing the offense if they can keep games within one or two scores max.
12. Seattle Seahawks
With the exception of a couple of cold stretches, Geno Smith seems to have picked up where he left off in 2022 and is playing great football. The Seahawks offense has followed suit and looks extremely competent through two weeks.
11. Green Bay Packers
Although they’ve clearly kept the training wheels on the offense for Jordan Love, the Packers’ young quarterback has looked great in 2023 and has that young offense averaging 31 points per game.
10. Dallas Cowboys
Ceedee Lamb is making his case to be recognized amongst the top wideouts in the game and Dak Prescott is playing mistake-free ball. Granted, they’ve been complemented nicely, borderline supported, by a dominant defense, but Cowboys offense has been great in its own right.
9. Los Angeles Rams
Expectations were low for Matt Stafford and the Rams heading into the year, but the veteran quarterback has done well to silence the doubters.
Los Angeles is among the tops in the league in points (9th) and yardage (2nd) and Stafford looks fully recovered from last year’s elbow injury and back in Pro Bowl form.
8. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers offense hasn’t been the culprit in their 0-2 start this year. LA is averaging 29 points per game and is top five in both yardage and scoring. Justin Herbert just needs his defense to start pulling their weight.
7. Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills offense looked like two different groups in their two 2023 outings. Week 1 against a buzzsaw Jets D was a nightmare, but they got in a big way against the Raiders in Week 2.
Look for this talented bunch to continue to climb the rankings.
6. Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City’s offense hasn’t looked like we’ve come to expect thus far this year, but with Patrick Mahomes under center, it will take more than a couple mediocre weeks to fall out of the top 10.
5. Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore’s offense has something that no other around the league can match and that’s the explosiveness of its quarterback Lamar Jackson. Now that they’ve put some talented skill players around him with Zay Flowers and OBJ to complement their pass-catching tight ends, the offense is really starting to blossom.
4. Detroit Lions
Detroit has one of the best offensive lines in the league and it shows. Jared Goff has had time to throw and looks great and the Sam LaPorta selection is looking like a big win.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles haven’t been quite as explosive as we expected thus far, but their offense can still dominate and eat up the clock like nobody’s business. And their short-yardage rushing game is unmatched.
2. San Francisco 49ers
Much has been made about Kyle Shanahan’s system in recent years and with good reason. It has turned San Fran into one of the most consistent offenses in the game. 2023 has been no different, they are averaging 30 points per game and Brock Purdy is looking like a potential Pro Bowler!
1. Miami Dolphins
With Tua Tagovailoa healthy under center—and speedsters Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle running wild on the outside, the Miami Dolphins have one of the most explosive personnel groups in the league. And it is translating. Through two weeks, they are leading the league in team yards with 462.5 per and are third, averaging 30 points in their two wins.
