Week 4 was a doozy with some shocking quarterback performances across the league. Let’s reflect on this slate of games and power rank every NFL team’s signal caller.
32. Atlanta Falcons Desmond Ridder (Last Week #29)
Desmond Ridder played about as bad as once can during the Falcons’ London appearance. 19 for 31 for 191 yards and with back-to-back interceptions, one of which was a back-breaking pick-six. Tough showing.
31. New England Patriots Mac Jones (Last Week #25)
Don’t look now, but Mac Jones is starting to give Zach Wilson a run for his money as the worst quarterback in the AFC East. The Patriots QB really struggled this week against an admittedly tough Dallas D, going 12 for 21 for 150 yards and turning the ball over twice.
30. Cincinnati Bengals Joe Burrow (Last Week #8)
Crazy to say it, but Joe Burrow has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league so far this year as he tries to battle through a calf injury that is clearly limiting him. 20 completions for 165 yards and no touchdowns are not the kind of production we’ve grown to expect from the Bengals quarterback.

29. Pittsburgh Steelers Kenny Pickett (Last Week #23)
Things did NOT go well for Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. Before he left with a knee injury, Pickett completed just 15 of 23 passes for 114 yards and one INT.
28. Cleveland Browns Dorian Thompson-Robinson (Last Week N/A)
With Deshaun Watson getting scratched from the lineup last minute, Dorian Thompson-Robinson had his work cut out for him. His first career start left a lot to be desired accumulating just 121 yards and surrendering three interceptions in the process.
27. New Orleans Saints Derek Carr (Last Week N/A)
Honestly, not sure what the Saints were thinking trotting Derek Carr out there with that apparent shoulder injury. He looked extremely limited, defaulting to check-downs for most of the afternoon..37 passing attempts for just 127 yards is impossibly bad.
26. Las Vegas Raiders Aidan O'Connell (Last Week N/A)
All things considered, Aidan O’Connell’s NFL debut went okay—and way better than most expected. In Jimmy G’s absence, he nearly led the Raiders to a comeback win against the Chargers, though a couple of untimely mistakes ultimately cost him.
25. New York Giants Daniel Jones (Last Week #26)
The only saving grace for Daniel Jones at this point is that he can still run the football with the best of them—because it has been a serious struggle for him to make plays in the passing game. During the Giants Monday Night Football appearance, Jones had some horrendous turnovers and looks to be trending in the wrong direction.
24. Minnesota Vikings Kirk Cousins (Last Week #13)
It was not Kirk Cousins’ best outing of the season statistically speaking, but he was able to get the Vikings in the win column for the first time this year against the lowly Panthers. That said, 139 yards and two interceptions—even with two touchdowns—is going to cause a significant fall in the rankings.
23. Carolina Panthers Bryce Young (Last Week N/A)
After seeing how the Panthers offense looked with Andy Dalton under center last week, Bryce Young’s performance Sunday becomes all the more concerning—particularly because just 204 yards and no touchdowns was probably his best game of the year.
22. New York Jets Zach Wilson (Last Week #32)
In perhaps the most shocking turn of events this week, Zach Wilson outplayed Patrick Mahomes for 98% of the Jets-Chiefs Sunday Night Football showdown and jumped 10 spots in the rankings—even though Kansas City pulled it out in the end. He was completing throws with an insane degree of difficulty. If only he could’ve held onto that snap at the end of the game, the Jets might’ve won it and he could’ve broken into the top 20.
21. Denver Broncos Russell Wilson (Last Week #30)
Week 4 was the best that Russell Wilson has looked thus far—even if it took him a couple of quarters to get going. Granted it came against the lowly Bears, but he played to a 133.5 rating, completing 21 of 28 passes for 223 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
20. Chicago Bears Justin Fields (Last Week #28)
Justin Fields had a monster afternoon against an admittedly weak Broncos defense completing 28 of 35 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately, he did cough the ball up once and toss one pick, which helped to let Denver back into the game for a comeback win.
19. Tennessee Titans Ryan Tannehill (Last Week #27)
Every time people are ready to write off Ryan Tannehill he always seems to find a way to get a big win. Tannehill completed 62 percent of his passes for 240 yards and one touchdown, leading the Titans to a definitive 27-3 W over the Bengals.
18. Green Bay Packers Jordan Love (Last Week #11)
Jordan Love skidded in the rankings this week after getting manhandled by the Lions defense on Thursday night. He fought hard, but needs to protect the football better or Green Bay won’t be able to compete with the top teams in the league.
17. Arizona Cardinals Joshua Dobbs (Last Week #21)
Arizona may have lost this week, but Joshua Dobbs had an impressive showing, especially considering it came against the San Francisco 49ers, who have one of the best defense groups in the league. 265 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions is extremely solid all things considered.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars Trevor Lawrence (Last Week #17)
Trevor Lawrence had a decent outing across the pond completing 23 of 30 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown in a convincing win over Atlanta. It was great to see him leverage his athleticism too, as he tacked on eight carries for 42 yards and a couple of critical first down conversions.
15. Indianapolis Colts Anthony Richardson (Last Week N/A)
He got off to a slow start after missing last week, but Anthony Richardson balled out in the second half, nearly leading the Colts to a comeback W against a solid Rams team. His accuracy needs to improve, but 200 yards and two touchdowns through the air with 10 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown on the ground is a strong showing.
14. Washington Commanders Sam Howell (Last Week #24)
Washington has to be feeling much better about their young quarterback after seeing him bounce back from a poor performance against the Bills last week. Sam Howell nearly led the Commanders to a huge upset win against the Eagles completing 29 of 41 passes for 290 yards and one touchdown.
13. Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott (Last Week #18)
Dak Prescott had an easy afternoon against the defeated-looking New England Patriots. The Cowboys dominated the Pats 38 to 3 and Dak did his part completing 28 of 34 passes for 261 yards and one tudder.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Baker Mayfield (Last Week #16)
Baker Mayfield is starting to resemble the quarterback we saw in 2020 with Cleveland. He led the Bucs to another win this weekend, going 25 for 32 for 246 yards and three touchdowns to just one interception.
11. Los Angeles Rams Matt Stafford (Last Week #10)
Matt Stafford continues to impress in 2023. The veteran signal caller completed 27 of 40 passes for 319 yards and one touchdown to one pick, leading the Rams to a big overtime win against the Colts.
10. Houston Texans C.J. Stroud (Last Week #15)
C.J. Stroud has quietly established himself as the early front-runner for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. The Texans QB led Houston to an emphatic win over a tough Steelers defense, going over 300 yards passing and connecting on two passing touchdowns with no interceptions.
9. Los Angeles Chargers Justin Herbert (Last Week #5)
It wasn’t his flashiest game, but Justin Herbert was gritty in the Chargers win against the Raiders this week. Especially after the beating he took early in that one from the Vegas D.
8. Seattle Seahawks Geno Smith (Last Week #7)
It looked like Pete Carroll really tried to throttle back the way he used Geno Smith after he twisted his knee in the second quarter of their Monday Night Football appearance. 110 yards is low, but once again Geno made some impressive throws and was efficient in a convincing win over the Giants.
7. Detroit Lions Jared Goff (Last Week #9)
Jared Goff didn’t put up monster numbers against the Packers on TNF, but he had that Lions offense humming and it isn’t fair to begrudge him for taking what the defense gives him.
6. Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson (Last Week #12)
Lamar didn’t have to throw the ball a ton on Sunday, but he was extremely efficient in doing so. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 186 yards and two scores with no INTs. He also added two touchdowns and 27 yards on the ground making him responsible for all four Ravens touchdowns in a 28-3 walloping of a tough Browns defense.
5. Miami Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa (Last Week #1)
Tua took a step back this week against a Buffalo team that was eager to prove it still reigns supreme in the AFC East. Even so, 282 yards and one touchdown is a decent showing, so we can’t drop him too far.
What changes would you make to our quarterback rankings?
4. San Francisco 49ers Brock Purdy (Last Week #6)
Brock Purdy may not be putting the Niners on his back, but it’s not his fault he doesn’t have to! Besides, he’s been playing great football and doing exactly what he has to do to win games.
3. Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes (Last Week #2)
Patrick Mahomes didn’t look crisp this week, there’s no denying that, but he was up against a fierce Jets defense that clearly had a spark lit by the shocking performance from Zach Wilson. Not to mention that once it became closing time, Mahomes balled out this time using his legs to seal the game.
2. Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Hurts (Last Week #4)
Hurts and the Eagles played Washington closer than they would’ve liked, but as per usual Philly’s dual-threat QB found a way to make all the plays he needed to when the chips were down.
1. Buffalo Bills Josh Allen (Last Week #3)
Safe to say that Josh Allen has officially shut all of the haters up. After the embarrassing L Week 1, he’s rattled off three straight wins. Allen was nasty against the Fins Week 4 too, going for 320 yards and four touchdowns with no INTs.
