We are getting into crunch time for the NFL season. Some Head Coaches are getting their teams geared up for a postseason push, while others are merely trying to hold onto their jobs. Let’s take a look around the league and rank every team’s head coach.
32. Chicago Bears Matt Eberflus (Last Week #30)
Chicago looked much better with Justin Fields back on the gridiron, but Matt Eberflus still looks challenged orchestrating the Bears, especially on the defensive side of the ball, which is supposed to be his calling card.
31. Carolina Panthers Frank Reich (Last Week #31)
Brandon Staley has to be one of the worst coaches in the league at this point. The Chargers HC continues to squander one of the more talented rosters in the AFC with erratic play calling and poor strategy.
30. Los Angeles Chargers Brandon Staley (Last Week #23)
While the Chargers actually converted both of their 4th down attempts this week, once again, it appears that Brandon Staley really has no method to his madness.

As evidenced by his Chargers losing another big game late.
29. Washington Commanders Ron Rivera (Last Week #25)
The Commanders were embarrassed Week 11 and it is hard not to put the blame squarely on Ron Rivera’s shoulders. Based on his demeanor on the sideline and some of his decisions, Rivera seems to know he’s a sitting duck and has all but completely checked out.
28. BYE New England Patriots Bill Belichick (Last Week #29)
Bill Belichick and the Patriots seem to be in disarray without Tom Brady. After another stomach-churning loss, New England had its bye and is now trying to assess, who is going to be QB1 going forward.
Not where you want to be at this time in the season.
27. New York Giants Brian Daboll (Last Week #31)
The 2022 NFL Coach of the Year has finally gotten his act together—and his team back in the win column. It is too little too late for this season, but showing a bit of pride, not to mention finding a way to win football games with Tommy DeVito under center has to bode well for him long term.
26. New York Jets Robert Saleh (Last Week #20)
Robert Saleh is running out of excuses. Everyone knows that the Jets quarterback situation is a mess, but the rest of the team is starting to descend into chaos.
25. BYE Atlanta Falcons Arthur Smith (Last Week #27)
The bye came at a crucial time for Arthur Smtih, who has very much found himself on the hot seat. Atlanta’s head coach may be coaching for his job in Week 12 against the Saints.
24. Tennessee Titans Mike Vrabel (Last Week #22)
Things keep getting worse for Mike Vrabel down in Nashville. The Titans look like they are right on the precipice of quitting on this season and their coach.
23. Arizona Cardinals Jonathan Gannon (Last Week #24)
Arizona is starting to find its rhythm again. They did get bested in Week 11 by the Texans, but Gannon is starting to show his vision for what the team could and should look like with Murray healthy for a full season.
22. Los Angeles Rams Sean McVay (Last Week #28)
Week 11 was a big one for Sean McVay, as he masterfully coached around another injury to Cooper Kupp to lead his team to a comeback win over the Seahawks that essentially saved their season—though it is still on life support.
21. Green Bay Packers Matt LaFleur (Last Week #26)
Not that game-planning for the 49ers is the easiest of tasks, but Todd Bowles really left a lot of meat on the bone, as the Bucs had nothing for San Fran.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Todd Bowles (Last Week #17)
There are still serious question marks about Todd Bowles as a coach, particularly when it comes to his presence on the sideline and in the locker room as a leader, but he did well in getting the Bucs a pivotal win this week against the Titans.
19. BYE New Orleans Saints Dennis Allen (Last Week #18)
Dennis Allen does not get the juices flowing for a fanbase. He’s underwhelmed all season in the Big Easy and if the Saints don’t make a big push down the stretch, he may find himself out of a job.
18. Cincinnati Bengals Zac Taylor (Last Week #14)
Zac Taylor’s job has gotten a whole lot harder with the injury to Joe Burrow. Let’s see what the Bengals coach is made of down the stretch with Jake Browning expected to be under center for the remainder of the year.
17. Las Vegas Raiders Antonio Pierce (Last Week #16)
Antonio Pierce took his first L as a head coach this week, but it was a respectable effort against a strong Miami team that most expected to embarrass the Raiders.
16. Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll (Last Week #13)
Pete Carroll gets a slight pass for the brutal loss this week with the injury to Geno Smith, but he needs to find a way to snap the skid for the Seahawks this week—and he’s going to have his work cut out for him considering they play the Niners.
15. Buffalo Bills Sean McDermott (Last Week #19)
Sean McDermott staved off disaster, by getting his team prepared to play against the Jets this week, but the Bills HC has a lot of work left to do to get firmly out of the doghouse this year.
14. Jacksonville Jaguars Doug Pederson (Last Week #21)
Jacksonville looked great this week in a huge win against the Titans. Credit to Doug Pederson for steering the ship through the Trevor Lawrence injuries and putting them in a position to contend in the AFC South again this year.
13. Denver Broncos Sean Payton (Last Week #15)
Sean Payton has the Broncos buzzing right now. Denver has rattled off another win, with more late-game heroics. The next step is for Payton to get his team to play a full game and dominate an opponent.
12. BYE Indianapolis Colts Shane Steichen (Last Week #11)
The Colts have been a little bit up and down this season, but that is too be expected with such a young team. Shane Steichen could be up for Coach of the Year honors if he can facilitate a strong, late season showing from Indy.
11. Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin (Last Week #7)
It is impressive how Mike Tomlin continues to keep this Steelers team relevant despite its horrendous offense, but he really needs to figure out something on the offense side of the ball to get a little more pop going.
10. Minnesota Vikings Kevin O'Connell (Last Week #3)
Even in a losing effort this week, Kevin O’Connell has continued to do a great job with the Vikings after a terrible start to the year.
Minnesota came up just short this week on the road against a scorching hot Broncos team, but they’ll have a good opportunity to get back on rack Week 12, hosting a terrible Bears team.
9. Houston Texans DeMeco Ryans (Last Week #9)
DeMeco Ryans is up to three wins in a row and the Texans are very much in contention to win the AFC South outright. Their matchup with the Jaguars Week 12 has huge implications.
8. Miami Dolphins Mike McDaniel (Last Week #10)
Mike McDaniel jumped up a couple of slots with the win over Las Vegas, but it would’ve been nice had it been a little more convincing. With the amount of talent on the roster, Miami should be decimating teams like the Raiders.
7. Dallas Cowboys Mike McCarthy (Last Week #8)
Dallas had another cupcake this week playing the Panthers, but credit to Mike McCarthy for making sure that his Cowboys pummeled them. Let’s see if he can keep it up come playoff time.
6. Cleveland Browns Kevin Stefanski (Last Week #5)
It wasn’t pretty, but once again, Kevin Stefanski found a way to get it done—even with Deshaun Watson out for the season. He’s coached this defense up to a truly special level.
5. Baltimore Ravens John Harbaugh (Last Week #12)
Harbaugh got the Ravens back on track with a convincing win against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. Granted, he had an assist from Joe Burrow leaving with an injury, but a big victory nonetheless.
4. Kansas City Chiefs Andy Reid (Last Week #4)
Andy Reid did about all he could against the Eagles on Monday Night Football. The Chiefs offense was flowing smoothly and had a lot of opportunities, the only problem was the wide receivers couldn’t seem to hang on to the ball.
3. Detroit Lions Dan Campbell (Last Week #2)
Dan Campbell’s Lions started off slow this week against the Bears, which was a little concerning, but he did well to rally the troops in the second half and take care of business.
2. San Francisco 49ers Kyle Shanahan (Last Week #6)
San Francisco has been on a war path since its bye week and has now posted two dominant wins in a row. Kyle Shanahan has this team playing phenomenal football on both sides of the ball.
1. Philadelphia Eagles Nick Sirianni (Last Week #1)
Nick Sirianni led the Eagles to a huge win this week against the Chiefs. Philly was extremely impressive, particularly after a challenging start to the game in how it slowed Kansas City’s momentum.
