When you’re on the coaching staff of a football team, you are required to do the job you are paid to do and do it well. Sometimes, your job will extend to other areas that you didn’t expect, but you will be required to do it as well.
That is the case for Ted Rath, who is the strength and conditioning coach for the Rams, because on game days, he has a second job on the team to make sure head coach Sean McVay stays off the sidelines and not get in the way of officials who are running up and down trying to call the game.
In today’s NFL, Rath might be getting a head coaching position just for the simple fact that he touches Sean McVay around the waist so much.
