Usually when your team makes it to a Super Bowl, you can help but develop a hatred for your Big Game opponent and their fans. But in the case of Super Bowl LVI, it appears as though Cincinnati Bengals Fans were making it awfully hard for the opposing fan base to not like them.
During the week, the Bengals’ website shared an open letter that they received from a Rams fan who was in attendance at Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium, and couldn’t help but be enamored with the the kindness and respectability of Cincy’s fans.
In the letter, Rams fan Elliot Kozolchyk describes Bengals fans as “nice,” “kind,” and “polite.”
He begins the letter as follows:
“To the Cincinnati Bengals,
“First off let me tell you, whomever may be reading this, I’m a Los Angeles Rams season ticket holder. Now we can begin.
“Congratulations on an amazing season your team had, winning the AFC and a trip to the Super Bowl!!! Well done. Great game.
“The reason I’m writing this letter is to say how impressed I was with how fans of the Bengals not only represented their team, but their city.”
Elliot goes on to say, “I have never experienced such nice, kind, polite fans of the opposing team ever at a Rams game.”
The Bengals went on to lose the Super Bowl by a score of 23-20, but at least their fan base was able to score a big win in the eyes of their opponent’s fans.
