A wonderful Thursday night football game is set to take place tonight and millions of people are likely to miss it.
As per John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, NFL Network’s simulcast of Thursday Night Football will be blacked out on Dish and Sling TV if Dish/Sling don’t reach a deal with Fox by kickoff.
Last week’s Eagles-Packers game was televised on NFL Network for Dish Network subscribers, but those people won’t be so lucky this week with NFL Network’s coverage set to be blacked out on Dish/Sling:
“Tomorrow night’s “Thursday Night Football” game will be blacked out to Dish Network and Sling TV subscribers on both Fox and NFL Network if Fox and Dish don’t have a deal in place by kickoff, according to multiple sources. Last week, NFL Net simulcast the game to Dish Net subscribers even as the satellite distributor dropped Fox’s owned-and-operated channels, FS1 and FS2.”
The report goes on to say that the two sides are talking but a deal is highly unlikely to happen by kickoff.
Per Ourand, Amazon will place no restrictions on the game, so those people who are blacked out from watching the game on Dish/Sling TV can do so via an Amazon Prime subscription.
