The Los Angeles Rams are understood to have someone in line to replace Sean McVay should the head coach decide to step away this year.
McVay is rumored to be on his way out as he wants no part of the incoming rebuild.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Rams had plans to promote defensive coordinator Raheem Morris to the position of head coach had McVay left in 2022.
Both McVay and Aaron Donald contemplated retirement following their Super Bowl victory last February and they’re now at the very point. Breer claims the team was going to go with Morris over Kevin O’Connell, who was their offensive coordinator at the time. O’Connell is now the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings.
Raheem Has Multiple Admirers
Because of the above, Morris is thought to be the favorite to get the HC job with the team if McVay leaves in the wake of the Rams’ failed Super Bowl defense.

Morris, though, is being considered for other head coaching jobs in the NFL, with the Indianapolis Colts reportedly set to interview him next week. The Denver Broncos are also believed to be in the running.
