When Bobby Wagner made the decision to play for the Los Angeles Rams over the offseason, he did so for a number of reasons.
The money was good, but it was also the chance to return to play in his hometown.
Wagner grew up watching the Lakers and Kobe Bryant dominate on the court, so he had something special in mind for his debut. When he stepped out on the field in SoFi Stadium against the Buffalo Bills, Wagner paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant in his own unique way.
Wagner donned custom thigh pads that could be seen under his yellow pants. On his left thigh pad was his No. 45 and on the right was Kobe Bryant himself.
The Lakers responded to the Rams’ tweet with a couple of purple and gold emojis.
Wagner had a solid night last Thursday as he registered seven tackles and a sack.
