Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead has made quite a few decision this offseason that have garnered plenty of attention, and we’re not even talking about their logo change.
The Rams have lost running back Todd Gurley, wide receiver Brandin Cooks, linebacker Clay Matthews, and kicker Greg Zuerlein.
Gurley was most notable since he signed a mega extension and was cut less than two years after that contract was signed.
He is now an Atlanta Falcon.
He wasted no time taking to social media and demanded his former team pay him money that was owed to him, saying, “I still need my money,” the star running back said earlier this week. “That’s what I’m waiting on. . . . It’s all fun and games. But I do need my money.”
Clay Matthews said something similar on twitter.
On Thursday, Snead responded back to those claims.

“They’re definitely owed money. That money is guaranteed, we’re going to pay them,” Snead told NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano on NFL Total Access. “There’s some language in the contract of exactly when you pay them and that’s what we’re adhering by. But what I do know is both Clay and Todd earned that money and they’re going to get that money.”
Siciliano noted in that interview that the Rams have lost 12 total starters from the 2018 NFC Championship team, with many of them departing in the last few weeks.
Just like their Super Bowl run, the team will need Jared Goff to play at a high level and prove that he is worthy of the four-year, $134 million extension he signed back in 2019.
