One child is lucky to be alive after being saved from drowning while in a Las Vegas pool.
Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is being hailed a hero for jumping into action and saving the life of a drowning child.
Morris and his family were at the Encore in Las Vegas this past weekend on a vacation when he noticed a child drowning in the pool.
The three-year-old youngster had no pulse when his father removed him from the pool and carried him over to a lifeguard, according to Morris’ wife Nicole. In the end, the lifeguard gave the tiny child CPR. Then Morris hurried over to see if he could do anything.
“I saw people calling 911 so my first question was, where is the AED (automatic external defibrillator)? When I got back, we had a doctor on site that was able to start the compressions. I was able to hand the AED to him, get it open for him, put the pads on the child, and he ended up being OK.”
Morris later credited training from the Rams sports medicine team as one of the reasons he was able to understand what was happening and go retrieve the AED.

The use of an AED became a major topic last year Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on a field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Medical staff inside Paycor Stadium used the device to help restore his heart to a normal rhythm, saving Hamlin’s life in the process.
Morris was in the right place at the right time and we shudder to think what could’ve happened had he not been in the area.
