The Las Vegas Raiders were absolutely roasted for what they did to Jimmy Garoppolo and it has nothing to do with them benching him…sort of.
The big news this week was the Raiders getting ready to start rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell moving forward instead of veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, new interim head coach Antonio Pierce confirmed Wednesday.
The quarterback switch was the latest major development as head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler were fired.
After all of that, the team’s official X account would wish Jimmy Garoppolo a happy birthday.

Garoppolo had ties to McDaniels and Ziegler dating back to their time with the New England Patriots. The team decided last year to move on from Derek Carr and sign Jimmy G to a three-year, $72.8-million contract.
However, Garoppolo has struggled mightily under center with his new team. He’s thrown seven touchdowns to a league-leading nine interceptions. His accuracy has been terrible and was on full display when he failed to get Davante Adams the ball several times on Monday Night Football. He completed just 47.6% of his passes.
O’Connell was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He’s appeared in two games this season.
