The Las Vegas Raiders have made Jimmy Garoppolo their main man heading into the 2023/24 season and have now gotten the quarterback some additional help with a big free-agent signing.
The team has agreed to a three-year deal worth $33 million with former New England Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who is guaranteed $21 million per the terms of the contract.
That is according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who also notes that the deal was negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.
Meyers, 26, made 67 receptions for 804 yards and a career-high six touchdowns for the Patriots last season after joining the team as a free agent in 2019. The Pats’ leader in receiving yards over the past three terms, he’s caught 235 passes for 2,758 yards and eight TDs since going undrafted out of NC State in 2019.
Meyers’ Fit With The Raiders
The wideout will play the No. 2 spot on the outside of six-time Pro Bowl star Davante Adams, replacing Mack Hollins.
The latter had a pretty decent 2022 for the Raiders, making 57 receptions for 690 yards and four TDs. But it appears the team is betting on Meyers being more effective.

While the former Pats WR runs small for a receiver at 6ft 2in and 200 lbs, he is a strong route runner and could be a proper nuisance on offense.
The Raiders now have one of the most impressive receiving units in the NFL with Adams, Meyers, and Hunter Renfrow. Add Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller to that and it looks like it could be a pretty intriguing 2023 campaign for the new-look side.
