The Las Vegas Raiders have informed a defensive player that he will be released at the start of the new NFL year on Wednesday.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, defensive end Jerry Tillery will become a free agent next week as he’s set to be cut.
“Raiders informed defensive end Jerry Tillery that they will release when the new league year begins Wednesday, per source,” Schefter reported on Saturday.

Tillery was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, having starred for Notre Dame. He recorded 17 tackles and two sacks in his rookie season.
The Chargers declined his fifth-year option in 2022, waiving him a few months later. The Raiders claimed him off waivers thereafter.

The 27-year-old made 31 tackles, eight quarterback hits, and two sacks in two seasons with the Raiders.
