The Las Vegas Raiders made a shocking decision to bench longtime starting quarterback Derek Carr following their Week 16 loss and it appears a lot of players on the team are not happy about it.
Carr, who is now expected to be traded, is no longer around the team after he and the franchise agreed he should stay away to not be a distraction.
According to FOX insider Peter Schrager, many Raiders players were bothered by the quarterback’s benching.
“A lot of #Raiders players and other people in the building, that pre-date coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler, are disappointed in the handling of the Derek Carr benching,” Dov Kleiman tweeted, citing Schrager.
Las Vegas is expected to explore trade options for quarterback Derek Carr. The veteran who has started nearly every regular-season game for the Raiders since the 2014 season is almost certainly headed to a new team for 2023.
There are many scenarios where Carr might stay put. Last year, it appeared Jimmy G would be gone from the 49ers, only to end up starting for them again.
