Mark Davis finally had a lot to say in the wake of Jon Gruden stepping down from his head coaching position.
After Sunday’s win over the Broncos, which broke a 2-game losing streak, the Las Vegas Raiders owner gave a strong response to his friend’s emails that got him cast out of the NFL.
“Listen, the Raiders stand for diversity, inclusion and social justice,” Davis said. “We always have and we always will. The emails that came out are not what we stand for and so Jon Gruden is no longer head coach. There’s not much more I can say. All the talking heads are making up all sorts of stuff. That’s all it is. We don’t stand for it.”
Derek Carr sliced up the Denver defense for 341 yards and two touchdowns, while Maxx Crosby made three sacks and the Las Vegas Raiders started the post-Jon Gruden era with a 34-24 win over the Denver Broncos.
Longtime special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia started his interim head coaching career with a win as the team got to focus on something that wasn’t Jon Gruden related.
The now-former NFL head coach made racist and homophobic comments, among other things, while sending out emails from 2011 to 2018 when he was an employee of ESPN.
