An NFL team has accused the Las Vegas Raiders of giving them the silent treatment ahead of the trade deadline, which was followed by the team sacking their general manager and head coach.
According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, the Raiders “ghosted” a certain team on Tuesday after they reached out with what we can only assume were trade proposals.
“Explains why they ghosted us…Nobody responded yesterday,” someone from the team is quoted as having told Anderson.
Of course, they shouldn’t be feeling too bad now as it’s become clear that the Raiders were preoccupied. Owner Mark Davis had a GM and HC to fire, which is never easy, though he’s done it enough times to have grown comfortable.
The trade deadline hit at 4:00 PM ET and, just hours later, it was announced that Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels were handed their marching orders. Offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi was also let go.
The New York Jets were one of the teams that called the Raiders on Tuesday afternoon, with wide receiver Davante Adams the subject of their interest, according to the New York Post’s Brian Costello.

The Jets also made inquiries into Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans.
“There need to be buyers, there need to be sellers,” GM Joe Douglas said after the window closed without a move being made. “We made a lot of inquiries and had a lot of discussions about a lot of different positions but ultimately didn’t get any other deals done. That’s where we are.”
