Injuries have ravaged the Los Angeles Rams’ season and dramatically changed the complexion of Thursday Night Football. In a year where the team might be good, it would be hard for them to have a stadium full of their own fans.
Now that they are terrible just months off a Super Bowl victory, the home games have been even worse and will continue on Thursday night.
Fan projections for the game have the Las Vegas Raiders completely taking over the stadium. According to Vivid Seats’ fan forecast, the visiting Raider fans are expected to outnumber the home fanbase 67% to 38%.
Los Angeles is already short All-Pro wideout Cooper Kupp and quarterback Matthew Stafford, who are on injured reserve. Although Stafford is eligible to return in Week 17, McVay said “there’s a good chance” the quarterback will not play again this season.
The Rams have lost six games in a row and will look to try and snap the streak during Thursday Night Football against the Raiders.
In the meantime, the Rams claimed quarterback Baker Mayfield off waivers, the team announced Tuesday. The Carolina Panthers waived Mayfield on Monday, something interim coach Steve Wilks said was a mutual agreement between the two sides.
