Almost two weeks ago, someone in California noticed that a guy had a Colin Kaepernick doll hanging from a truck by its neck and captured a photo and posted it on Twitter with the caption: “Car with a lynched Colin Kaepernick Doll in San Jose, CA. And they swear Bay Area is free of hate.”
The man has since been found and identified as “Raider Rob” who recently spoke with NBC Bay Area reporter Scott Budman and not explained his decision but defended hanging the doll from his truck.
“I am just a Raider fan and it has nothing to do with politics and nothing to do with race,” Rob said.
Rob did say that he will consider removing the Kaepernick doll but said if he “hung a Tom Brady doll, people would say I’m anti-American.”
Being a Raiders fan and disliking the 49ers is one thing, but if it was truly about disliking the franchise, then why not a doll of a current player instead of one who hadn’t played in the league since 2016.
