According to Poyer’s wife, Rachel Bush, the family just might be making a huge move during the offseason to a new team.
In an Instagram story Monday, Bush was asked if she could “convince Jordan to be a Dallas Cowboy?” Her answer was eyebrow raising.
“[Free Agent] this year.” Bush said. “He knows I wanna live in Texas.”
An 11-year NFL veteran, Poyer has spent the past six seasons with the Bills and is in the final year of his contract.
Poyer has been one of the top safeties in the league for years and wants his next contract to reflect that. Despite being unable to work out an extension with general manager Brandon Beane this offseason, he showed up to do his job.
“We have approached the Bills about extending Jordan’s contract, as he would like to finish his career in Buffalo,” Poyer’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told The Buffalo News in April.

The 11-year veteran leads Buffalo in interceptions with four, and he’s tied for third in the league while ranking second in pass breakups among all Bills with seven. Poyer has been dealing with multiple injuries this year, including with his ribs and elbow. He has played in six games.
The Bills, who improved their record to 8-3 with a Thanksgiving win over the Lions, will next face the Patriots on “Thursday Night Football.”
