The veteran defensive tackle deleted the New York Jets from his Twitter bio as the two sides continue to discuss a contract extension.
He removed the Jets from it, instead writing that he’s a “Defensive Tackle for …….”
Williams has been looking for a new deal as he enters the fifth and final year of his current agreement, which pays him less than $10 million this season. Other great defensive tackles, such as Jeffery Simmons, Daron Payne, and Dexter Lawrence, have just signed new contracts with their respective teams, and Williams hopes to do the same.

Williams is the top defensive player on the team. Last season, he had a career-high 12 tackles, 28 QB hits, 12 tackles for loss, and four passes defended. His great play has earned Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro honors while finishing seventh in the Defensive Player of the Year voting.
