Whether or not Aaron Rodgers returns to the Green Bay Packers, one thing is clear: GM Brian Gutekunst and the front office must find a way to upgrade the receiving corps.
The Packers, as predicted, greatly missed the All-Pro talents of Davante Adams in 2022. The future Hall of Famer was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in the offseason, and the Green Bay offense simply wasn’t the same without him.
Rookie Christian Watson showed signs of stardom by posting nine total touchdowns in 14 games. Allen Lazard, a pending free agent, led the team with 60 catches for 788 yards in 15 games.
At NFL Analysis Network, Kenneth Teape proposed an enticing trade idea in which the Packers would address their need for another receiver by landing 2020 first-rounder Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos:
“Jerry Jeudy would be a nice addition, giving the Packers three young wide receivers to build their offense around. Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs both showed flashes as rookies, but bringing in someone with a little more experience and a No. 1 skill set would benefit both of them.
What would it cost to land Jerry Jeudy? The price likely isn’t cheap given his combination of age and skill set. The Packers can offer a second and fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and see if that is enough to get a deal done.
Jerry Jeudy is an elite route runner with a full route tree, capable of winning at every level of the field. Prying him away from Denver certainly won’t be easy, but he would be a great fit in Green Bay as they could lose Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb this offseason after losing Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling last year.”
Denver Broncos:
There’s no firm indication that the Broncos are shopping Jeudy, who showed signs of stardom after up-and-down rookie and sophomore years. The Alabama product hauled in 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns, providing something positive in what was a miserable season in Denver.

For the Packers, a trade for Jeudy especially makes sense if they end up retaining the four-time league MVP. Rodgers is mulling over his future and has yet to decide a) if he’ll continue playing and b) if he’ll come back to the Packers.
