The Washington Commanders could be on the brink of being sold, yet they’ve been pretty active during the current period.
They recently signed star defensive tackle Daron Payne to a four-year deal worth $90 million while they’ve also made moves to shore up their offensive line. Perhaps the most conspicuous of their moves came in the form of veteran quarterback Jacoby Brisset.
The QB could end up as a starter but it appears he’s been signed as a backup to Sam Howell. We’ll just have to wait and see who wins the battle.
There are doubts over Howell at the moment, which is why Brisset was acquired. But according to Alex Kay of Bleacher Report, there are moves Washington could make in order to get themselves an even better signal-caller. One of them would involve a trade with the Seattle Seahawks.
Kay has suggested that the Commanders could trade their No. 16 and No. 118 overall picks for the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, as well as a 2024 first-round pick, to Seattle for the latter’s No. 5 pick.
“That luxury allows the Seahawks to trade down from No. 5 overall and gain future assets from a club that is more desperate to land a top prospect,” he writes. “The Commanders fit the bill here as a team in need of a quarterback.”

Such a trade could be risky as the first four teams up could all select QBs. By the time they get on the board, Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis could all be gone. So, should they be considering such a trade, they might need to go into with some information as it pertains to what other teams want.
