Baker Mayfield wants to leave the Cleveland Browns. The team wants him to stay. Just a few days ago, it was the other way around.
Simply put, this situation is a mess. There’s no telling whether or not Mayfield will be a Brown in 2022 at this point. But…BUT…if he does get traded, we have an idea of what it could be for.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the return for the Browns in a Baker Mayfield deal would likely net them a second-rounder, or perhaps a conditional third that could turn into a second.
And wouldn’t you know it? A possible destination has also emerged.
Anderson claims that there are rumblings of the Seattle Seahawks possibly making a play for the disgruntled quarterback. A move like that would make sense, too, as Pete Carroll’s team is without a quarterback after trading away Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for a boatload of picks.

The Seahawks still have some elite playmakers on offense. Perhaps they decide to use one of the many picks they acquired from Denver and take a chance on the 2018 first-overall pick…
That is, if the Browns are willing to move him in the first place.
