President Trump is planning to huddle with the top executives in professional sports to talk about the coronavirus.
A call with “major league commissioners” was set for noon ET on Saturday, according to Mark Knoller of CBS News.
The world of sports was basically put on hiatus as soon as Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert contracted the disease and then other players as well as others from different sports began to get infected.
The NBA and NHL seasons have been suspended since March 12, while the MLB had to push back their opening day to an unknown day at this point. The NFL has only changed the way they are doing their Draft, but have done nothing as far as the actual season, which doesn’t begin for months.
League doctors with the NFL and NHL have warned against coming back too quickly, and it’s quite apparent that all sports would come back, but without fans in the stands.
As far as 11:50am EST, there are over 288,900 confirmed cases in the United Stated while 7,158 have lost their lives to the coronavirus.
