With cold weather football starting to take hold, teams are starting to focus more and more on their ground attack. Let’s take a look around the NFL and power rank every team’s starting running back.
32. Baltimore Ravens Gus Edwards (Last Week #26)
Gus Edwards was quiet this week. Baltimore handed him the ball just six times, which he converted into a measly 15 yards. It looks like he may be falling out of favor with the coaching staff for Keaton Mitchell.
31. Pittsburgh Steelers Najee Harris (Last Week #21)
Najee Harris was a complete nonfactor for the Steelers in their embarrassing Thursday Night Football loss to the Pats. He finished with just 29 rushing yards on 12 attempts—one less yard than Mitch Trubisky was able to accumulate.
30. Los Angeles Chargers Austin Ekeler (Last Week #31)
While we may never see peak Austin Ekeler again, the versatile running back did manage do go for 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in this one, which essentially made up all of the Chargers offense on the afternoon.

29. Seattle Seahawks Zach Charbonnet (Last Week #23)
Kenneth Walker III returned from injury this week, but Charbonnet still led the team in touches. Don’t count on that to be the case for the remainder of the year though because he wasn’t particularly impressive finishing with just nine carries for 44 yards.
28. Minnesota Vikings Alexander Mattison (Last Week #30)
When there is no steady passing attack it is tough to find lanes to run in, but Alexander Mattison, to his credit, did manage to turn just 10 carries into 66 yards on an afternoon that offense was hard to come by for the Vikings.
27. Indianapolis Colts Zack Moss (Last Week #22)
Zack Moss really struggled on the ground this week for the Colts. Minshew handed him the rock 13 times, but he could only manage 28 yards.
26. Chicago Bears D’Onta Foreman (Last Week #32)
With D’Onta Foreman back in action, Khalil Herbert was moved back to second string. Foreman had a modest, but effective showing. The veteran running back took 11 carries for 50 yards and finished with two catches for 22 more.
25. Green Bay Packers AJ Dillon (Last Week #24)
AJ Dillon was not the problem for Green Bay on Monday Night Football this week. The veteran running back turned 15 carries into 53 yards and converted his two catches into an additional 25 yards.
Matt LeFleur would’ve been wise to go to Dillon more as the game progressed.
24. Jacksonville Jaguars Travis Etienne Jr. (Last Week #15)
Travis Etienne struggled to find many running lanes this week, managing just 35 yards on 14 carries, but on the bright side, he did get into the end zone and added another 37 yards on four catches.
23. Kansas City Chiefs Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Last Week N/A)
With Isiah Pacheco sidelined due to injury, Clyde Edwards-Helaire was slotted into the starting lineup for the Chiefs and let’s just say he didn’t quite match Pacheco’s level of dynamism or production. Reid designed 11 runs for him which he turned into only 39 yards—a tough showing for a guy that may well be fighting to stay in the NFL sooner rather than later.
22. Philadelphia Eagles D'Andre Swift (Last Week #12)
D’Andre Swift has been a nonfactor for the Eagles in back-to-back weeks now. The Eagles running back finished with just 39 yards on 11 carries in the loss.
21. Las Vegas Raiders Josh Jacobs (Last Week #5)
It was a down week for Josh Jacobs, as the former All-Pro took 13 carries for 34 yards. To make matters worse, he also banged up his right knee and may be set to miss some time.
20. Dallas Cowboys Tony Pollard (Last Week #16)
Tony Pollard finished with 59 yards on 16 carries at home against the Eagles Sunday Night, but it is worth noting that he looked quick and explosive doing it. The Cowboys running back was also able to snag seven catches for an additional 37 yards.
19. Cleveland Browns Jerome Ford (Last Week #14)
Jerome Ford was good, but not great for the Browns against Jacksonville. Cleveland’s RB1 finished with 12 carries for 51 yards and tacked on five catches for another 31 yards.
18. BYE Washington Commanders Brian Robinson (Last Week #18)
Brian Robinson has been one of the more consistent running backs around the NFL this year. The young back has averaged over four yards per carry and is one of the better blockers in the backfield as well.
17. Atlanta Falcons Bijan Robinson (Last Week #20)
Bijan Robinson bounced back nicely this week making a major impact through the air. He snagged five catches for 54 yards—and also tacked on 34 yards and a score on the ground.
16. New England Patriots Ezekiel Elliott (Last Week N/A)
With Rhamondre Steveson sidelined by an ankle injury, Ezekiel Elliott got a chance to start this week and though he wasn’t peak Zeke, he did rip off a a few nice runs—and went big in the passing game.
The veteran finished with a modest 68 yards on 22 carries, but an impressive seven catches for 72 and a score.
15. Denver Broncos Javonte Williams (Last Week #27)
Javonte Williams had a respectable showing against the Chargers in a big Week 14 win. Payton got him 20 total touches, 17 carries and three receptions, which he converted into 66 and 25 yards respectively—with a touchdown on the ground to boot.
14. Houston Texans Devin Singletary (Last Week N/A)
Just when we thought that Dameon Pierce had put himself in a position to take over the starting duties again, the Texans slotted Devin Singletary back into the lead role.
Singletary played well on Sunday, turning his 13 carries in 65 yards and the Texans only scored on the afternoon.
13. New Orleans Saints Alvin Kamara (Last Week #9)
The Saints running back had a decent showing in Week 14, turning 12 carries into 56 yards and one touchdown. New Orleans will need him to play like the All-Pro talent he’s proven to be in the past if they want to win the NFC South.
12. New York Giants Saquon Barkley (Last Week #25)
Saquon Barkley had himself a huge performance for the Giants on Monday Night Football. The Penn State alum took 20 carries for 86 yards and two scores—and add three catches for 15 receiving yards.
11. Tennessee Titans Derrick Henry (Last Week #7)
Derrick Henry struggled to find running lanes on Monday Night, as his 17 carries only went for 34 yards, but he did well to execute in the redzone for Tennessee, punching in two touchdowns.
10. BYE Arizona Cardinals James Conner (Last Week #8)
When healthy, James Conner is still among the top running backs in the league. He has been averaging just under five yards per carry for Arizona this year and is dangerous in the redzone.
9. Cincinnati Bengals Joe Mixon (Last Week #19)
Joe Mixon looks like he is really rounding into form at this point in the season. He was explosive all afternoon for the Bengals, turning 21 carries into 79 yards and a score.
The Cinci running back also managed to chip in three catches for 46 yards.
8. Detroit Lions Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week #13)
Jahmyr Gibbs was absolutely electric for the Lions this week with the touches he got. He turned 11 carries into 66 yards and a score and added another three for 16 through the air.
7. New York Jets Breece Hall (Last Week #28)
Breece Hall was electric for the Jets this week, particularly in the second half. He may have only had 40 yards on 10 carries, but he was huge in the passing game, hauling in eight catches for 86 yards and a score.
6. Carolina Panthers Chuba Hubbard (Last Week #11)
Chuba Hubbard was impressive for Carolina this week on an afternoon when they couldn’t get much going offensively. He turned 23 carries into 87 yards, though it is worth noting that he only outgained Miles Sanders by 13 yards despite having more than twice as many carries.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rachaad White (Last Week #6)
Rachaad White has now had back-to-back 100-yard games. He turned 25 carries into 102 yards and added three catches for 33 yards, and a score.
Big game for the young running back!
4. Buffalo Bills James Cook (Last Week #10)
James Cook looked great this week for Buffalo. He was relatively efficient on the ground, turning 10 carries into 58 yards, and absolutely electric in the passing game converting five catches into 83 yards and a score.
3. Los Angeles Rams Kyren Williams (Last Week #3)
Kyren Williams has been one of the top backs in the league this year when he’s been healthy. Williams was a monster on Sunday against a tough Baltimore defense, turning 25 carries into 114 yards.
2. Miami Dolphins Raheem Mostert (Last Week Last Week #4)
Raheem Mostert had a big week for Miami against an admittedly porous Titans defense. The Dolphins speedster converted 21 carries into 96 yards and scored two touchdown on the night.
1. San Francisco 49ers Christian McCaffrey (Last Week #1)
Christian McCaffrey may have been held out of the endzone this week, but that didn’t stop him from managing to have a massive impact on the game. The All-World running back turned 16 carries into 145 yards, including a 72-yard gasher of a run that helped set up an easy touchdown
