The NFL is officially moving on to Week 8, as we near the halfway point of the season, let’s take a look around the league and see where every running back ranks.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rachaad White (Last Week #25)
Rachaad White has been a nonfactor for the Bucs in recent weeks. He couldn’t get anything going against Atlanta this week, taking 13 carries for 34 yards.
31. Minnesota Vikings Alexander Mattison (Last Week #32)
Alexander Mattison had another quiet game this week this time, despite on otherwise solid offensive showing form the Vikings. Minnesota’s running back toted the ball just eight times for 39 yards.
30. Arizona Cardinals Emari Demercado (Last Week #28)
Emari Demercado wasn’t particularly inspiring this week, as he continues to fill in for the injured James Connor. The Cards gave him a fair amount of work, 13 carries, which to his credit he averaged a respectable 4.5 yards per carry on.

29. BYE Houston Texans Dameon Pierce (Last Week #27)
Dameon Pierce got a chance to rest up this week a less-than-stellar showing against the Saints. He should, however, have a favorable matchup and a chance to get back in DeMeco Ryan’s good grace next week against the lowly Panthers.
28. New England Patriots Rhamondre Stevenson (Last Week #30)
Rhamondre Stevenson had another down week. He couldn’t get much going against the Bills run D, as he turned nine carries into a measly 34 yards—though, to his credit he did finally contribute in the passing game converting six catches into 51 yards.
27. Buffalo Bills James Cook (Last Week #21)
James Cook was a ghost this week against the Patriots. The Bills running back got the ball just 13 times, converting those carries into 56 yards.
26. Atlanta Falcons Bijan Robinson (Last Week #11)
Bijan Robinson was apparently battling an illness this week, which would explain why his usage was so low. The Falcons star rookie has been awful quiet of late, including this one carry, three-yard outing.
25. BYE Cincinnati Bengals Joe Mixon (Last Week #22)
Joe Mixon hasn’t really been himself all season and unfortunately, he will have his work cut out for him coming off the bye as the Bengals have to travel out west to face a nasty 49ers defense that will be playing with something to prove after two straight losses.
24. BYE Dallas Cowboys Tony Pollard (Last Week #23)
Tony Pollard had a chance to catch his breath Week 7 with Dallas on bye, but he’ll have a tough matchup ahead facing a Rams defense that allowed just 86 rushing yards this past week.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers Najee Harris (Last Week #26)
Najee Harris had one of his better games of the year this week—though that isn’t really saying much. Pittsburgh’s lead back got the ball 14 times and turned that into 53 yards and one touchdown, his first of the season.
22. Las Vegas Raiders Josh Jacobs (Last Week #14)
Josh Jacobs has been one of many disappointments for the Raiders this year. The former All-Pro once again had a weak showing, taking 11 carries for 35 yards in an embarrassing loss to the Bears.
21. Washington Commanders Brian Robinson (Last Week #24)
Brian Robinson is a powerful runner, but Washington hasn’t done much to empower their second-year back creatively. The Commanders offense is as bland as it gets and he has struggled to find holes to run through as evidenced by his 23-yard performance this week.
The one silver lining for Robinson this week is that he did manage to turn one of his eight carries into Washington’s only touchdown.
20. BYE Carolina Panthers Chuba Hubbard (Last Week #15)
Chuba Hubbard has been playing way better than Miles Sanders pretty much all season, so it will be interesting to see what his usage looks like coming off the bye against the Texans.
19. Los Angeles Chargers Austin Ekeler (Last Week #18)
Austin Ekeler still hasn’t really look like himself since returning from injury. The Chargers star running back nearly got doubled up on yardage by his back up, Joshua Kelly, who had half the amount of carries as him.
18. Green Bay Packers AJ Dillon (Last Week #29)
The Green Bay Packers offense was brutal most of the afternoon against the Broncos, but AJ Dillon looks like he is starting to round back into form after the injury. He went for 61 yards on 15 carries and chipped in two receptions for a solid 34 yards.
17. Baltimore Ravens Gus Edwards (Last Week #31)
Gus Edward had himself a huge week, which gave him a nice bump in the rankings. The Ravens running back was a factor in both the run and pass game, converting 14 carries into 64 yards and one score and taking his lone reception for 80 yards in Baltimore’s rout of the Lions.
16. Denver Broncos Javonte Williams (Last Week #19)
Javonte Williams got his usage upped this week, going from 10 carries in his first game back against the Chiefs to 15 in Week 7 against the Packers. He capitalized well on the opportunity going for 82 yards, while also tacking on three receptions for an additional 14 yards.
15. Cleveland Browns Jerome Ford (Last Week #16)
Jerome Ford got off to a big start this week, but unfortunately battled injuries throughout the game and may find himself alongside fellow injured back, Nick Chubb, in the coming weeks.
14. Chicago Bears D’Onta Foreman (Last Week #17)
D’Onta Foreman had another big game in Khalil Herbert’s absence and may have earned himself the starting role going forward. He carried the rock 16 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
13. Philadelphia Eagles D'Andre Swift (Last Week #13)
D’Andre Swift look strong with the ball this week, though his overall usage was somewhat limited. He carried the ball 15 times for 62 yards and added three catches for 13.
12. Los Angeles Rams Darrell Henderson Jr. (Last Week N/A)
Darrell Henderson Jr. picked up right where Kyren Williams left off before going out with an injury. The veteran running back stepped in nicely, taking 18 carries for 61 yards and a score.
11. New Orleans Saints Alvin Kamara (Last Week #12)
Alvin Kamara has been Derek Carr’s go-to guy the last couple of weeks, as New Orleans’ QB has really grown fond of using him as a check-down target since he returned from suspension. So much so, that he had an insane 12 catches for 91 yards, not to mention the 62 yards he gained on 17 carries.
10. Indianapolis Colts Jonathan Taylor (Last Week N/A)
Jonathan Taylor is starting to look like the superstar we know him to be again. He took 18 carries for 75 yards and one score and added another 45 yards from scrimmage on his three receptions.
9. Detroit Lions Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week N/A)
Jahmyr Gibbs had himself a nice game on an afternoon where really nothing else went right for the Lions. Granted, his touchdown came in garbage time, but he deserves credit for breaking the goose egg for Detroit and he was rather efficient with his 11 carries, which he took for 68 yards.
8. BYE Tennessee Titans Derrick Henry (Last Week #7)
After a big Week 6, Derrick Henry and the Titans were on a bye this past week. Between the quarterback situation in Tennessee and the stout Atlanta run defense waiting for him next week, he’ll need to really bring it to keep his footing in the rankings.
7. Miami Dolphins Raheem Mostert (Last Week Last Week #1)
Raheem Mostert came back down to earth this week with a pedestrian showing against the Philadelphia Eagles. Miami’s running back carried the ball just nine times for 45 yards and chipped in one catch for four yards.
6. Kansas City Chiefs Isiah Pacheco (Last Week #3)
Isiah Pacheco was a little quieter this week, finishing with just 32 yards on 13 carries, but to his credit, still managed to find the end zone at a critical juncture in the game.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars Travis Etienne Jr. (Last Week #6)
Travis Etienne found himself posting a nice week against a tough Saints defense. He carried the ball 14 times for 53 yards and two scores, while also chipping in three catches for 24 yards.
4. Seattle Seahawks Kenneth Walker III (Last Week #9)
Kenneth Walker III had another big game this week. Seattle’s second-year back turned 26 carries into 105 yards and tacked on two catches for an addition six in their win over Arizona.
3. BYE New York Jets Breece Hall (Last Week #2)
Bryce Hall has been extremely dynamic for a Jets offense that desperately needs that out of him. Particularly of late. He should look fresh coming off a bye against an admittedly tough Giants defense.
2. New York Giants Saquon Barkley (Last Week #20)
After the way he played against the Commanders last week, it is safe to say that Saquon Barkley is officially back! The Giants star was a force to be reckoned with, carrying the ball 21 times for 77 yards and adding three catches for 41 yards and a score.
1. San Francisco 49ers Christian McCaffrey (Last Week #4)
It may have come in a losing effort, but once again, Christian McCaffrey has found a new exciting way to fill up the stat sheet, scoring two total touchdowns and turning 18 touches into 96 yards from scrimmage.
