Some of the top backs in the league falter this week and a couple of lower-tiered players have big outings. Let’s take a look back and power rank all 32 starting running backs after Week 10.
32. Minnesota Vikings Alexander Mattison (Last Week #30)
Everything is turning around for the Minnesota Vikings of late—despite their slew of injuries—except for the running back output. Alexander Mattison got just eight carries for 27 yards and considering he was nearly doubled up for touches by Ty Chandler, we may see him moving further into the background of this Vikings run game.
31. BYE Los Angeles Rams Darrell Henderson Jr. (Last Week #29)
Darrell Henderson Jr. took a slight step back on bye this week because of the action elsewhere around the league. That said, he hasn’t found nearly enough consistency since getting slotted into the lead-back role.
30. Carolina Panthers Chuba Hubbard (Last Week #25)
Chuba Hubbard struggled again this week—this time against a weak Bears defense. His Thursday Night Football performance was limited to just 23 yards on nine carries.

29. Green Bay Packers Aaron Jones (Last Week #16)
After a big Week 9, Aaron Jones took a step back this week—getting into it with Head Coach Matt LaFleur and finishing the loss against Pittsburgh with only 35 yards on 13 carries.
28. Dallas Cowboys Tony Pollard (Last Week #27)
Tony Pollard wasn’t hugely featured in the Dallas offense this week against the lowly Giants and he finished the blowout win with 15 carries for only 55 yards.
27. Jacksonville Jaguars Travis Etienne Jr. (Last Week #3)
Travis Etienne had a terrible week along with the rest of the Jaguars, who appeared to be outclassed by San Francisco. The normally dynamic back managed just 35 yards on nine carries in the blowout loss.
26. Cincinnati Bengals Joe Mixon (Last Week #18)
This was not Joe Mixon’s best week. The Bengals running back did find his way into the endzone but only got 11 carries in a back-breaking loss to the Texans. 4.2 yards per carry is respectable, but we have come to expect bigger counting numbers than 46 total on the ground.
25. BYE Kansas City Chiefs Isiah Pacheco (Last Week #23)
Isiah Pacheco slid a couple of slots while his team was on bye, but he’ll have a great chance to prove his worth against the Eagles next week on Monday Night Football.
24. Seattle Seahawks Kenneth Walker III (Last Week #22)
The Seahawks offense hasn’t supported a super consistent running attack this year, but Kenneth Walker III looked alright in Week 10 against the Commanders, taking 19 carries for 63 yards.
23. Arizona Cardinals James Conner (Last Week N/A)
How happy are the Cardinals to not only have Kyler Murray back but also James Conner. Emari Demercado was okay as his standing, Keaontay Ingram not so much.
In any case, neither understudy had the chops to deliver consistently like James Conner does when healthy. His usage was slightly down this week, but that was to be expected coming off the injury. 16 carries for 73 yards is solid nonetheless.
22. Pittsburgh Steelers Najee Harris (Last Week #20)
Najee Harris had his third strong performance in a row, taking 16 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown, but it is worth noting that Jaylen Warren is seriously starting to infringe on his territory as the lead back.
21. Buffalo Bills James Cook (Last Week #31)
After several challenging weeks, James Cook had a solid showing against Denver taking 12 carries for 109 yards—with a crazy 42-yard run in the mix.
Though it is worth noting he did get extremely lucky on what should’ve or could’ve been a costly fumble.
20. Baltimore Ravens Gus Edwards (Last Week #14)
The only saving grace for Gus Edwards this week was that he snuck into the endzone once. Other than that—it was an uninspiring 11-carry, 24-yard performance.
19. Tennessee Titans Derrick Henry (Last Week #5)
King Henry was held in check this week by the Bucs defense—along with the rest of the Tennessee offense. The Titans will need more than 20 yards from scrimmage from their star running back if they want to make a late season playoff push.
18. Atlanta Falcons Bijan Robinson (Last Week #26)
Finally, this is the Bijan Robinson we expected to see after his exciting debut. The Falcons rookie found his out of Arthur Smiths’ doghouse and into 22 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown.
17. New England Patriots Rhamondre Stevenson (Last Week #19)
After what was far and away Rhamondre Stevenson’s most productive game of 2023, the Patriots running back continued his upswing, taking 20 carries for a respectable 88 yards.
16. New Orleans Saints Alvin Kamara (Last Week #12)
Alvin Kamara posted another modest—to his standards, but effective stat line against the Vikings. He took nine carries for 42 yards and served as a reliable safety valve for Derek Carr and Jameis, hauling in seven passes for 33 yards.
15. Chicago Bears D’Onta Foreman (Last Week #17)
D’Onta Foreman had a productive Thursday Night Football appearance against the Panthers. He took 21 carries for 80 yards and a score, while also chipping in two catches for 12 yards.
14. Houston Texans Devon Singletary (Last Week #28)
Devon Singletary was impressive in Week 10, his second week of taking over the lead responsibilities in Houston. He totaled 150 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries and was running with an explosiveness we haven’t seen out of anyone in the Texans rotation this year.
13. New York Jets Breece Hall (Last Week #8)
Breece Hall struggled to get much going on the ground against the Raiders this week, but his 28-yard output is excusable considering how Las Vegas stacked the box against him all game.
Hall, to his credit, managed to contribute in the passing game, turning three catches into 47 yards.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rachaad White (Last Week #15)
Rachaad White has now strung together two consecutive quality performances for the Bucs. He was a threat in both the run and passing game in Week 10, totaling 98 yards from scrimmage and a score in a big win over the Titans.
11. Indianapolis Colts Jonathan Taylor (Last Week #11)
The Colts struggled to get much going on offense in Germany, but Taylor managed to find a way to contribute, turning his 23 carries into 69 yards and the only touchdown of the game.
10. BYE Philadelphia Eagles D'Andre Swift (Last Week #9)
D’Andre Swift had a chance to rest up this week with Philly on the bye—and he’ll need it as the Eagles are set to face off with a nasty Chiefs defense in Week 11.
9. Washington Commanders Brian Robinson (Last Week #13)
Brian Robinson may have been quiet on the ground, netting 38 yards on eight carries, but he was a force to be reckoned with in the passing game, snagging six passes for 119 yards and one touchdown.
8. Cleveland Browns Jerome Ford (Last Week #21)
Jerome Ford looked phenomenal this week in a huge win against the Ravens, managing to average 6.3 yards per carry on 17 attempts en route to a 107-yard total
7. New York Giants Saquon Barkley (Last Week #2)
Saquon Barkley had a down week against a talented Dallas defense, but it is hard to blame him with the way that Giants offense is running with Tommy Devito under center. All things considered, 66 yards on 13 carries is pretty impressive.
6. Miami Dolphins Raheem Mostert (Last Week Last Week #7)
Mostert got a chance to catch his breath this week with Miami on bye. It will be interesting to see how his role changes with De’Von Achane’s expected return in Week 11.
5. Los Angeles Chargers Austin Ekeler (Last Week #24)
This was the first time all season that Austin Ekeler looked like his Pro Bowl self. He had a big game totaling 115 yards from scrimmage and a score in the Chargers’ high-scoring bout with the Lions.
4. Denver Broncos Javonte Williams (Last Week #10)
Javonte Williams was huge for this suddenly revitalized Broncos team. Williams finished their Monday Night Football duel with Buffalo having notched 21 carries for 79 yards and added four receptions for 31 yards and a score.
3. Las Vegas Raiders Josh Jacobs (Last Week #4)
It is safe to say that last year’s leading rusher is officially back. Josh Jacobs was extremely impressive against a stout Jets defense, taking 27 carries for 116 yards and chipping in two catches for 11 yards.
2. Detroit Lions Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week #6)
Detroit has been tough to stop on the ground this year with the two-headed monster of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.
Gibbs was particularly explosive this week in their high-scoring affair with the Chargers. He posted an impressive stat line of 112 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.
1. San Francisco 49ers Christian McCaffrey (Last Week #1)
Christian McCaffrey’s touchdown streak may have been snapped, but he still had another big week—torching the Jaguars to the tune of 16 carries for 95 yards and six catches for 47 yards.
