An ESPN analyst claims to have “heard” that New England Patriots GM and head coach Bill Belichick will be taking up a job elsewhere at the end of the season.
Belichick has been the subject of exit rumors amid the Pats’ slump and it was reported that he could be fired if he lost to the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.
The veteran HC remains in charge of the team despite losing on Sunday and New England falling to 2-8. It’s now thought that there could be a mutual parting of ways at the end of the season, with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reporting as much over the weekend. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky said he has been told the same.
Speaking on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ this Tuesday, the former quarterback said he’s become aware of such talk.
“I have heard that,” Orlovsky said after Pat suggested that Belichick and the Pats could go their separate ways at the end of 2023 and that the HC might be in line for another job. “I’ve heard more and more of that over the past week. I’m not a reporter, all that stuff, but I have heard that.”
The ESPN personality added that Belichick knows exactly where he’s going

“I have heard that’s going to be the case,” he continued. “Who knows the likelihood of it, but I’ve heard that’s going to happen. I’ve heard the location is already kind of determined as well.”
Orlovsky didn’t oblige when pressed for the name of the team.
“I’m not giving… I’ve just heard that,” he said.
The Pats are heading into a bye after their latest loss and will resume action against the New York Giants on November 26.
