Shadi Hamid, who is a writer for The Atlantic and just wrote a book titled “The Problem of Democracy,” really wishes he could’ve kept his inner thoughts to himself.
He took to Twitter and shamed fans of the Eagles for wearing jerseys and dedicating their entire day to rooting for their favorite football team.
“I’m in Philly and a lot of people are wearing Eagles jerseys and maybe I’m a curmudgeon but the idea of (publicly) wearing a jersey and orienting your whole day around getting excited about a game where people run into each other with helmets is vaguely annoying,” the tweet read.
He has since delted the tweet, but not before people went off on him.

It’s pretty weird for the author to pick out Philly fans to go after since every sporting team that ever exists has a fan base that does this. Has he never seen soccer fans and what they do?
The Eagles will be playing for a trip to the Super Bowl on Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers.
If they do, he can be annoyed even more when they take to the streets to celebrate.
