Police have confirmed that Joe Mixon’s house is “part of the crime” scene after a child was shot in his neighborhood on Monday night.
The child, a teenager whose age remains unknown, sustained gunshot wounds around 8:30 PM at the Anderson Township in Cincinnati. The juvenile was taken to the hospital but the wounds were said to be non-life-threatening, fortunately.
“We can confirm that part of the crime scene involves a home connected to Bengals player Joe Mixon,” the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement, per WLWT. The authorities haven’t revealed whether the Bengals running back is connected to the incident but his sister, Shelonda, has told the outlet that the player had no involvement.
Mixon has been in the news today as a result of the shooting, with FOX19 reporter Chancelor Winn sharing a video of police outside of the player’s house.
According to FOX, police knocked on the door asking for any occupants to come out. The officers entered the residence around 1:30 AM on Tuesday morning and removed their cordon tape sometime after 3:00 AM.

It’s unclear if Mixon was home at the time but his address is the same one listed on an arrest warrant for charges which were dropped last month. The Bengals star was accused of threatening a woman and pointing a gun at her in February.
No one has been arrested in connection with the latest incident as police continue to investigate.
