The Los Angeles Times is reporting that a San Francisco 49ers fan is in a medically induced coma after an apparent beating outside SoFi Stadium following the NFC Championship game.
A man, who was later identified as Daniel Luna, was found in Parking Lot L at SoFi Stadium during the NFC Championship game, according to Inglewood Police Lt. Geoffrey Meeks. The 40-year-old San Francisco 49ers fan remains hospitalized in a medically induced coma at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
“Emergency room staff at Harbor-UCLA noted wounds suggesting Luna had been attacked and contacted Inglewood police later that night.”
“We are relying heavily on video to try to identify the people involved,” Inglewood Police Lt. Geoffrey Meeks said. “We are going to leave no stone unturned.”
Luna was reportedly wearing a 49ers jersey and black pants when he was found outside of the stadium. Inglewood PD has an open assault investigation into this incident and is currently working closely with SoFi Stadium security.
There will be upwards of 70,000 fans again at SoFi Stadium when the Rams take on the Bengals at the Super Bowl.
