The Cleveland Browns have no plans to void the contract for Deshaun Watson despite a recent string of emerging accusations involving the team’s new quarterback. Tony Buzbee, who is representing numerous clients against Watson, confirmed this week that the signal-caller will face two additional lawsuits, bringing the total number of pending lawsuits to 26.
According to a recent report by The New York Times, Watson met with at least 66 women over a 17-month period in Houston, contending that he had sought out “random strangers on Instagram” for massages “more than 100 times” previously.
On Tuesday after minicamp, Watson held a press conference where he answered several questions from reporters.
Watson claimed he “never assaulted, disrespected or harassed anyone.” He said he has regrets on how the allegations affected “the community and people outside of just myself. And that includes my family.”
Watson was also asked about a New York Times report that revealed he allegedly met with 66 different massage therapists over a 17-month period. Watson at first said he didn’t think that was accurate before saying the reporter would have to ask Watson’s legal team about the issue.
Soon after his presser, the opposing attorney, Tony Buzbee, would release a fiery statement in response.

Although criminal charges against Watson were dropped in March after grand jury proceedings, the NFL launched its own investigation into the 26-year-old quarterback.
Watson sat out the entirety of the 2021 season while the criminal charges against him were investigated. And there’s a good chance he misses a significant portion of the 2022 campaign once the NFL makes their final ruling on his fate.
His best season came in 2020, when he completed 70.2% of his passes for 4,823 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Texans traded him to the Browns in March, and soon after he received a record-breaking $230-million, fully-guaranteed contract from his new team.
