The Pittsburgh Steelers’ recent social media activity has some fans convinced that the team may be planning to move on from quarterback Kenny Pickett.
A Steelers fan account, @Gaige_Rage, noted that the Steelers’ social media team hasn’t posted anything on their starting quarterback in more than two months now. @Gaige_Rage even wonders if the social media team was tipped off that Pickett won’t be their starting QB in 2024:
And now, several fans are buying the theory that Pittsburgh is indeed ready to move on from the third-year quarterback:

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced after the 2023 season that Pittsburgh would bring in QB competition for Pickett. The team has already released second-stringer Mitch Trubisky, and third-stringer Mason Rudolph (who finished the season as Pittsburgh’ starter) is a pending free agent.
If Pittsburgh wants to give Pickett another shot to prove himself as the starter, they won’t sign the top QB in this year’s free agent class in Kirk Cousins. But the likes of Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson (if he gets cut by the Denver Broncos), Jameis Winston and Gardner Minshew II could be targets for the Steelers.
Many even wonder if the Steelers will attempt a trade for Justin Fields, as the Chicago Bears are expected to restart at QB by taking Caleb Williams with the first overall pick.
The bottom line is that the Steelers know they simply have to bolster their depth at the game’s most important position, one way or another.
