Who wouldn’t want pizza over chicken salad? Apparently, if you want it as a member of the Pittsburgh Maulers football team, you’re going to get cut.
De’Veon Smith formerly of the USFL Pittsburgh Maulers found out the hard way when the coaching staff cut him from the team for wanting pizza over chicken salad. Smith requested pizza from a hotel worker instead of the chicken salad that was being served to him. The hotel worker told him he couldn’t and asked if that would be a problem. Smith claims that he said “yes” and walked away.
During the Maulers first game on Monday, the QB used that moment during his snap cadence to yell out ‘chicken salad’ right before hiking the ball.
