Football fans want ESPN to discipline NFL insider Adam Schefter over his strange X/Twitter post about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
On Saturday, Adam Schefter reported that the NFL’s “replay assist is expected to expand this offseason into plays that could include the quarterback slide.” Fair enough, but Schefter is catching fire for specifically referencing Mahomes in the X post and in the starting sentence of his article:
For all those complaining that Patrick Mahomes gets too many calls, relief soon could be on the way.

There have indeed been plenty of angry rants from fans accusing the NFL refs of “favoring” Mahomes and the Chiefs this season. Nonetheless, folks weren’t pleased with Schefter referencing Mahomes in his tweet.
“Another irresponsible tweet from Adam Schefter. I’d like to say I’m surprised, but after this season, his journalistic integrity seems to be lacking,” one fan said.

“@AdamSchefter is legitimately doing a disservice to the game this weekend. There seems to be an ulterior motive here whether it’s betting related or attempting to make the Chiefs get more penalties like they did with Jawaan Taylor. This seems sketchy and completely uncalled for,” added another.

“I get why the anonymous account are feeding this: They get paid off of engagement & that’s their hustle. But for @AdamSchefter, who makes 9M a year, feed into this on arguably the single best day of football of the year, just to satisfy the algorithm, is a disservice to fans,” added FS1’s Nick Wright.

“I’m out on Schefter. Singling out Mahomes here is completely uncalled for. But even worse, not giving @PSchrags credit for the Liam Coen statement yesterday after he specifically asked for it is unethical journalism. In reality, he should be suspended,” wrote another.

“You’re a clown for the Mahomes reference,” quipped one fan.

Mahomes and the Chiefs were the beneficiary of two questionable “Roughing the Passer” calls against the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round, leading to post-game complaints about the officials from DeMeco Ryans, Joe Mixon and Will Anderson Jr.
You better believe that head referee Clete Blakeman and his crew will be under the microscope in today’s AFC Championship Game vs. the Buffalo Bills.
Not Adam Schefter’s Finest Moment
Schefter is by far the league’s No. 1 NFL insider, and he’s employed by the Worldwide Leader in Sports no less. With all due respect to him, there was truly no need to mention Mahomes in this article.
