Former NFL running back Peyton Hillis remains in hospital after saving his children and two adults from drowning at a beach in Pensacola, Florida.
On Thursday, it was reported that Hillis was unconscious and in the ICU. His uncle, Greg Hillis, provided a promising update on Peyton’s status on Thursday — stating that he’s “doing better” and that “the doctors say he is improving.”
Lifeguards and medical personnel went to offer look at Hillis following his heroic act. He had to be taken away via helicopter to a hospital following what TMZ reports was “a swimming accident.” TMZ obtained and shared photos of the lifeguards and medical personnel rescuing Hillis, which you can see by clicking this link.
The former Arkansas running back played in the NFL from 2008 to 2014. He rushed for a career-high 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns in the 2010 season as a member of the Cleveland Browns, and he earned the honors of being on the cover of Madden NFL 12.
We’ll be sure to provide more updates on Hillis as they become available. Here’s hoping for a safe and speedy recovery.
