NFL fans have been shown the first jaw-dropping renderings of what the Cleveland Browns new stadium may look like.
The AFC North club has played at Cleveland Browns Stadium since 1999. Though 25 years isn’t exactly old for a professional sports team venue, Forest City officials hope fans will get to celebrate the opening of a Cleveland Browns new stadium soon.
On Wednesday, the Browns penned a letter to the fans to provide an update on their stadium situation. The club said that though the option remains to upgrade the current stadium, the building has “operational limitations” and that this would be “a complex and challenging proposition.”
The Browns added that the “more transformational option is” to build a brand-new domed stadium in the Cleveland suburb of Brook Park. A proposed Cleveland Browns new stadium would cost $2.4 billion:
The other and more transformational option is to build a $2.4 billion new domed stadium in Brook Park, creating a modern, dynamic, world-class venue that would greatly enhance the fan experience and enable the State of Ohio and our region to compete for some of the biggest events in the world 365 days a year. Similar to other markets in the Midwest, this proposed domed stadium would catalyze our region in a major way. The stadium’s year-round activity would anchor a large-scale lifestyle and entertainment district, including experiential retail, residential space, hotels and other unique products, drawing visitors throughout the year and driving substantial fiscal impact for our region.
The Browns also shared a video and some stunning images of what the domed stadium in Brook Park would look like. Have a look for yourself:

Cleveland is coming off a surprise 11-win season that culminated with Kevin Stefanski winning his second Coach of the Year Award in four years. The Browns will open their 2024 season with a home tilt against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 8, featuring Tom Brady’s debut as an NFL analyst on FOX.
As the Browns emphasized in their letter to the fans, plenty of work must be done to finalize plans for a future stadium. And again, there’s always the chance that they’ll settle on the option to upgrade the current venue.
Cleveland Browns Stadium Enters 25th Year
Though the Browns’ current stadium is only 25 years old, only current NFL venues are older. The Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans are awaiting new stadiums, which will open in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
The Chicago Bears play in the oldest active NFL venue, Soldier Field, which opened 100 years ago in 1924. However, the club is finalizing plans to build a new stadium that is expected to open in 2028.
