It didn’t take long for Calvin Ridley to show his first reaction to securing a $92 million deal with the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
On Wednesday afternoon, news broke that the former Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars star signed a four-year deal with the Titans worth $92 million that includes a whopping $50 million in guarantees.
Ridley’s agent, David Mulugheta, posted a photo on X/Twitter of a happy Ridley immediately following the news of his near-$100 million deal:
Ridley’s decision to join the Titans is by far the biggest surprise of 2024 NFL free agency up to this point. Ahead of Wednesday’s news, it was reported that the Ridley sweepstakes were down to the Jaguars and New England Patriots, who have a boatload of cap space and are in desperate need of more receiving help.
The Titans were never reported as a potential landing spot for Ridley before today. The team also tends to stay away from deals of this magnitude, as evidenced by their refusal to pay superstar WR A.J. Brown two years ago.

But the retooling Titans ended up making an offer that Ridley and his camp couldn’t refuse, and so the two-time 1,000-yard receiver now heads to Music City to round out an offense led by second-year QB Will Levis, superstar WR DeAndre Hopkins and two-time 1,000-yard rusher and fellow free agent signing Tony Pollard.
