Popular ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington found himself with a bit of a mess on his hands this weekend as he had to deal with quite the reptilian situation, and in the worst place possible.
Darlington took to X/Twitter to share his awkward experience, revealing his toilets hadn’t been flushing as they normally would at home. He was unaware as to why until the little green creature shown below, which appears to be an iguana, stuck his head out on Sunday.
Of course, it tried to go back where it came from, so Jeff had to quickly grab it by the tail and pull it out.
“Here’s a first for yours truly, ESPN’s resident Florida Man. Our toilets haven’t been effectively flushing last few days. No idea why. Until I just walked into our bathroom to find this,” he shared.
“It tried to go BACK down the toilet pipe… had to grab it by the tail and pull it out.”
Not something you’d want to attempt without gloves. Of course, there was no time for that. Plus, it’s not the worst thing you could pull from a toilet; imagine dropping your phone in there…

Jeff Darlington Had An Interesting 2024 Offseason
Jeff Darlington has had a pretty exciting offseason. The journo was somewhat at the center of the Scottie Scheffler saga earlier this year as the golfer was arrested right in front of him, allowing him to relay a firsthand account.
Still, it doesn’t get more interesting than finding an iguana in your toilet and having to fish it out.
Speaking of fish, Darlington made some pretty impressive catches during a trip with his family back in June.
The guy has a thing for wet, scaly animals.
