NFL Network reporter Sara Walsh has posted a photo to social media showing some of the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene from her kitchen window.
Walsh, who has been covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season, lives near Clearwater Beach. Flooding brought on by Helene damaged her home last week; thankfully, Walsh and her family were unharmed.
She described the events of the night the hurricane hit during an appearance on ‘Good Morning Football’ earlier this week, reliving the frightening experience.
“What you’re looking at is—this was my pool. It’s a much larger pool now, if you look at it this way,” she said while a video of her family moving through the flooded neighborhood played.
“That was my backyard. That was my husband rescuing the neighbors. They sent the dog over first. And that’s my daughter being taken out of my house at 2 a.m. because the house behind us caught on fire and was burning to the ground in hurricane winds. So, an unbelievably devastating, scary situation. I know how incredibly lucky I am to be sitting here right now.”

Sara Walsh’s Backyard Is A Total Mess
Walsh has since shared a photo of what her backyard looks like now that the water has cleared.
“From the @tampabaytimes. This is literally out my kitchen window,” she wrote as the caption to the image posted on her Instagram Story.
You could see that here, too.
As you can see, the damage is pretty extensive.
Of course, Walsh shouldn’t mind the mess her backyard as long as her family is okay. But she will rue having to rebuild.
