Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Patrick Paul has broken the internet thanks to the slick helmet he donned at rookie minicamp.
The Dolphins used the No. 56 selection of the 2024 NFL Draft on Patrick Paul, a standout offensive line prospect out of Houston who earned two First-team All-AAC nods and a First-team All-Big 12 selection in 2023.
At Miami’s minicamp, Paul was seen wearing a face mask that makes him look like a movie villain:
And fans on social media were absolutely loving Paul’s crafty helmet:

On the team’s official website, Patrick Paul is listed at 6-foot-7 and 333 pounds. A man of that size is imposing enough for opposing opponents to deal with, but imagine lining up across Paul with that mask directly in your face.
According to Pro Football Focus, Paul allowed only two sacks on 1,091 pass-blocking snaps over his final two years with Houston. Paul improved considerably after allowing three sacks on 551 pass-blocking snaps in 2021, per PFF.
Terron Armstead, Isaiah Wynn, Aaron Brewer, Robert Jones and Austin Jackson are the five protected staters on Miami’s offensive line for 2024. With those positions set, it remains to be seen how much playing time Paul will see as a rookie.
Patrick Paul Brings Valuable Depth To Miami’s Offensive Line
Miami already lost one reliable starter in guard Robert Hunt, who signed a five-year contract with the Carolina Panthers worth $100 million.
And though Armstead is one of the best offensive tackles in the game, the five-time Pro Bowler has missed 11 games since joining Miami in 2022. He also missed nine games in his final season with the New Orleans Saints back in 2021.
So getting another depth player like Paul in round two was an excellent move by GM Chris Grier. And it doesn’t hurt the Houston product to learn behind a veteran mainstay like Armstead before he becomes a starter.
