After granting permission to star Defensive End Dereck Barnett to seek a trade, the Philadephia Eagles are looking to make another trade.
According to the Philadelphia Enquirer’s Jeff McLane, Running Back Trey Sermon is now on the trading block. Sermon, who was a part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl roster in 2023, played mainly as a reserve, where he ran for 105 yards and 1 touchdown.
The potential move isn’t exactly a surprise for the Eagles, who wouldn’t get a lot of repetitions or carries behind the newly acquired D’Andre Swift and mobile Quarterback Jalen Hurts. Sermon wouldn’t see much as he doesn’t even crack the rotation.
Though Sermon wouldn’t get much time on field, he is still seen as a valuable asset as the Eagles look for the best offer possible. Sermon, though on limited time, could add Running Back depth for a team.
Sermon, 24, was a 4 year player in college where he played 3 seasons for the Oklahoma Sooners before transferring to the Ohio State Buckeyes where he finished his senior season. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers.
