The Philadelphia Eagles are making damn sure what happened in 2023 will not be happening in 2024.
The Brian Johnson era in Philadelphia is expected to end as Derrick Gunn reports that the Eagles’ embattled offensive coordinator won’t return to that position in 2024.
Many Eagles fans will be happy to see Johnson go after watching the coaching staff not getting the most out of the team’s offensive talent.
Johnson is unlikely to be without a job for very long as he has received head coaching interviews with the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans this offseason. There was a third team but the Panthers are no longer expected to interview Johnson for their opening, Joe Person of The Athletic reported.
So there’s still a chance Johnson could end up getting a head coaching gig after just one iffy season as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator.

If Johnson is hired as a head coach, the Eagles would receive third-round compensatory picks in each of the next two drafts because of the league’s rule to help develop minority coaches and executives.
Johnson replaced former offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, who moved on to be the head coach in Indianapolis after two seasons as the Eagles’ OC. He had been the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach for those previous two seasons.
