The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing in a top hire this Thursday as a former NFL head coach is set to become their defensive coordinator.
Vic Fangio, who mutually parted ways with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, has a new job less than 24 hours after leaving the AFC outfit. Fangio boasts over 30 years of experience as a DC and was the Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018; he didn’t have to wait long before his phone rang.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier that the 65-year-old was on his way to Philly to sign a deal that would make him their new DC.
Fangio spent two weeks with the Eagles last year, helping them prepare for the Super Bowl. Now he’s back in a full-time role following their embarrassing collapse this term.
He will probably feel like he was handed some poor cards in Miami as injuries left him with a full crop of defensive options for just a few weeks.
