The Philadelphia Eagles wasted little time making changes to their coaching staff, following Monday’s embarrassing blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Super Wild Card Weekend.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, head coach Nick Sirianni has fired defensive coordinator Sean Desai, who lost the play-calling duties on defense to Matt Patricia back in Week 15.
The Eagles lost valuable defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon last year when he took the Arizona Cardinals head coaching duties. The 40-year-old Desai was brought in as the Eagles’ new DC after spending one year as an assistant under Pete Carroll in Seattle.
Desai was also the defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears in 2021, taking over for the retired Chuck Pagano.
