Has a new Philadelphia Eagles superstition been born?
While most fans couldn’t keep their eyes off of the wild 28-23 Eagles win over the Dallas Cowboys earlier this month, eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice the red underwear of a staffer who got knocked down during the game.
Matt Leo, the defensive and football operations assistant, took ownership but corrected the claim that the ‘thong’ was actually a lucky pair of red and white boxer briefs.
After the Eagles defeated the Chiefs on Monday night, Leo would take to his Instagram story and show off those briefs but actually state it was a thong in his caption.
The 6-foot-7 former defensive end spent the majority of his time as a player on the practice squad and never played an NFL game. He retired in July 2023 and then transitioned to a coaching role.
It looks like he found his calling.
